A new romantic bistro on the historic 1000 block of Main Street in Dubuque IA. L. May Eatery serves fusion cuisine and pizza in Dubuque, Iowa in a romantic candlelit atmosphere. Enjoy our impeccable service table side or at our full bar. We also have an extensive wine list with anything from a quality glass of pinot to a great special occasion reserve bottle.
On a weekend getaway, stayed in Dubuque and were looking for something different. Found L May on TripAdvisor. Great experience. Totally fresh ingredients, service was great, staff very attentive and friendly. My wife discovered a fun new martini (Elder greyhound martini). Would definitely return.

Timmerman's Supper Club was built and established in 1961 by Helen Timmerman. Helen's vision for fine dining resulted in a great reputation for superb food, cocktails and weekly entertainment. In 1985 the restaurant was purchased by David and Patti Thiltgen, who later sold it in 1998 to Juan and Sandy Rodriguez. During those years the two current owners; Mark Hayes and Gary Neuses started working at the Supper Club. Between the two of them they have over 50 years experience at Timmerman's Supper Club. They purchased the restaurant in 2003 and have been working very hard to continue to build on Helen Timmerman's legacy of excellence. Timmerman's Supper Club overlooks the Mississippi River Valley; where the food and beverages are as spectacular as the view. The restaurant features floor to ceiling windows on three sides, allowing for a great view no matter where you are seated. It is definitely a place you will want to stop when you are in the Tri-State area!
After talking this place up for years I finally got my wife here. 45 minute wait was expected, but getting my head bit off at the bar for asking for a drink menu kind of stunned me. We put that behind us when we were taken to the table. We ordered appetizers, which were good, then moved on to the entrees. My wife ordered fettuccini alfredo and I ordered the seafood platter. After another hour it finally came out, but they only brought crab legs. This was taken back and what I ordered was brought out 10 minutes later... Ice cold. I let the waitress know, and the manager came and said he'd take care of it. 5 minutes later he brought out the exact same plate (I had taken a corner off yhe fish) that had just been nuked. They denied this of course but agreed to take it off the bill as it was inedible. Very disappointed!

Brazen Open Kitchen | Bar is a comfortably stylish New American cuisine showcasing locally sourced (when available) and world inspired cuisine and cocktails. We are located on the corner of 10th & Washington in the heart of the Millwork District. The restaurant is led by a kitchen & bar team with some of the top talent in the area. Brazen is a representation of inspired individuals wanting to perfect their craft and give our patrons the best experience possible. Our team works with local farmers and growers to bring the freshest ingredients to our kitchen for the best quality. We pride ourselves in not having any freezers in the restaurant which allows us to give you always fresh ingredients!! The experience is exciting yet approachable, with a warm Midwest atmosphere that makes it a perfect destination for craft beers, inspired cocktails, and innovative plates that can be shared or enjoyed in a more formal meal.
I'm a true foodie, so here goes:
Starter: Gnocci. Excellent! Blue lump crab cake: chunks of fresh crab. So good!
Party of 4 all had different entrees and soup, salad, pizza (Margarita). Of course, we shared. Each one so full of flavor and interesting seasonings. We appreciated the expertise of the chefs. And the bread made fresh daily is tops. No room for dessert :( Definitely one of the best if not the best restaurant in Dubuque. Highly recommended!!

Been Here For Years, Serve Breakfast Lunch And Supper
Stopped here while traveling for holidays. Reviews of the restaurant were good. This was not our experience at Sunshine Family Restaurant. Three of us ate lunch, none of us finished our meals. Chicken noodle soup started off the meal, the color of the soup was unlike anything I have ever seen. Very strange. Ordered a hamburger for lunch, patty was frozen type and tasted like it had been in freezer for a long time. Only took one bite. My son had breakfast. Hard to mess up breakfast but it happened. Bacon was terrible, tasted like it had been cooked hours earlier then reheated. Overall experience was not good.

We had a wonderful lunch here the other day. The Copper Kettle is recently remodeled and is beautiful inside! They have homemade onion rings with a chipotle sauce that are so yummy! My father had a greek salad that was very good. My husband and I had a caprese salad and our little guy Mac and Cheese. Such a fun place!

Didn't start out well as the young woman who seated us was not friendly, didn't smile or even tell us to enjoy our meal. However our waitress was wonderful. We had the lobster bisque and crab rangoon flat bread. Both fabulous. We both had filets - perfectly prepared. Dessert of peach cobbler and chocolate molten lava cake. Fabulous!! Portion sizes were very nice.

We went for an early dinner, we were greeted warmly and were seated right away without reservations. The inside was nice, being in an old building downtown.
The food was average, and knowing that this was a higher end restaurant which was highly rated, I expected more. My entree came with a salad, but was disappointed that there were only two choices for dressings.
Fresh bread and butter were included.
I had a Cajun dish, If I recall, it was gumbo over rice. It was OK, but the flavor was just a little bland. The portions were adequate.
There are many interesting items on the menu, and it appears that the menu changes seasonally, so I could see returning to try something else.

We went because of the chicken noodle soup featured on another review, but found it wasn't on the menu. When we explained that my husband had to have soft food, our waitress did everything short of standing on her head to accommodate us. She suggested mashed potatoes and dressing, and made sure to bring his beverage without ice, and continued to check in to make sure we had what we needed. I ordered a chicken entree, and found it delicious and satisfying. As an extra, there is an adorable train track near the ceiling that makes its 'rounds' every 30 minutes. Can't say a word about the decor, but we were very pleased with our visit. Come here to check out a true neighborhood bar and grill at work.
