You can get anything you want as this awesome place. There is sport memorabilia all over the walls, TVs, and upstairs area with bar. As well as a bar downstairs. Very exciting atmosphere and friendly service make this a must stop when going through Deridder. The food is fantastic. I have never had anything I did not like and they give you a lot. A little on the high side with the prices but well worth the extra few bucks to relax and enjoy a great meal and a cold beer or cocktail. You will not be disappointed with this place day or night.

Coffee shop serving organic-free-trade coffee roasted in Louisiana.
I gave it two stars because i don't go there very often but the times i have gone, I was dissatisfied. They call themselves Java Joe's...of course to me that means they specialize in coffee. If you want just regular cup of coffee, they keep it brewed in those containers and no telling how old it is. One time i went in there and there was not even coffee in that container. I ordered a hazelnut coffee or something of the sort about a month ago an I was skeptical about how they were going to make it. It was sooooo strong I couldn't even drink most of it and the little bit i was able to choke down made me shake so bad from all of the caffeine. I had to throw it away. The last time i went in,they were out of decaf. Not a good coffee shop to me.

My straw had a bug on the wrapper possibly from being in an apron that hadn't been washed. My fork had a speck of dried food. Other than that the food was pretty good for a small town restaurant. I had the gumbo which was seriously just like home

The Double D Steakhouse is about as close to good food that anyone would ever get in DeRidder. They do serve a variety of meats and vegetables, and the salads aren't bad either. If I were to compare this place to other great restaurant places in the world, I would only give it a 2 rating, but for DeRidder, it is a 4 rating. I don't think that DeRidder actually has any true 5 rated restaurants. One of the uniquenesses of this restaurant, is that you are invited to throw your peanut shells on the floor. When you arrive, after you have placed your order, you are given a small bucket of peanuts to snack on.

Don't let the look of the restaurant deter you. The food is amazing! Excellent salsa, queso, enchiladas, tamales, fajita meat, sweet tea...everything! It was all really good. And the service was quick and friendly and very attentive. Loved it! Best Mexican food in a long time. And we live in Houston with lots of options.

I eat my food with no seasonings due to stomach issues - my order is just like I requested & always delicious . I've eaten steak , hamburger steak , chicken fried steak or po boy sandwiches - it's all good . The only thing I didn't like is the ham plate . I expected a ham steak & it was more of a sandwich sliced packaged meat. But everything else is delicious . Family members have had the ribs & enjoyed them as well .

Small coffee shop and Smoothie stand located inside local health food store. We offer a few premade sandwiches and pasteries, as well. We also juice fresh organic produce, mainly carrots and apples. There is outdoor seating as well as an indoor patio seating area. We use Louisiana's own fresh roasted private reserve beans from Community Coffee, and milk from the local Mennonite Dairy. We have over 100 combinations of regular and sugar free latte flavors, as well as our own Java Joe's flavored beans that are ground to order for our specialty coffees. We have around 50 smoothie flavors and use Dr Smoothie pureed 100% crushed fruits. There is also a Wellness Center and Spa on the premesis, with full service massage and facials, Naturopathic Consultations and testing, as well as a far-infrared sauna, hydromassage, red-light collagen bed, vibrational and oxygen therapy, chi therapy and teeth whitening. Our Natural Grocery department offers gluten free, paleo, vegetarian and vegan options, as well as natural vitamins and supplements and body care. We carry Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup aswell as two full lines of aromatherapy products. Our goal is to help everyone live a healthier life, and we are happy to place special orders and provide our community with organic produce, and a small selection of organic meats such as ground beef, bison, bacon and sausage.
The food is really pretty good but a little pricey, especially for a small town. The menu is a little hard to figure out. The worst part is the service. The staff seems to have no customer service training and seems put out and burdened as you try to figure out the menu while at the counter.
We've been multiple times and each time is the same. It seems to be a burden to wait on customers and the preparation time of the food is really much longer than necessary. The young man that makes it and brings it out, is apologetic, each time but it really takes too long.
I won't recommend against this place but I will say if you're in a hurry, postpone your visit here. Save it for a day you have plenty of time and are in a great mood.

My wife and I are TexMex addicts, and this place is the best in the area. Two-for-one margaritas Monday-Thursday! Consistently friendly and competent service, food is always great.

My husband and I were on our way to Houston and decided to take a little extra time and cross the border into Louisiana to see some different country. Beautiful drive. Arrived in Deridder and thought we should sample some local fare. Steamboat Bill's did not disappoint. I had shrimp tacos. My husband had red beans and rice. We shared the alligator. Nice selection of beer and wine. Employees were very nice. Prices mid-range. Good ambiance.
