I ate here with my wife, daughter, and her husband last week. I was very impressed. I had the blackened grouper and it was fabulous! Light flakey, with just the right level of spicyness. The service was spot on, we never felt rushed but never seemed to be waiting on anything, it was just there right on time. The staff was friendly. I will be back. I have to comment on the deserts, dont skip them! I shared a chess pie with bourbon ice cream that was incredible.

Found this little place right off the main road. Has a decent selection of coffee and mochas. I ended up with the Razzberry Mocha and it was perfectly prepared. Not overly sweet and the exact blend of raspberry and chocolate. Would definitely stop here again. Easy access from the road and ample parking. It was odd because when I walked inside I didn't a double take because at first I thought I had walked into a biker club due to the customers already there. Nice environment and also a decent menu for foods as well.

You really can't beat this. Great food and great prices. When I am on this side of town, which is not often enough, this is our go to place for lunch. For $6.99 you get bread with salad, plus a nice size entrée with additional bread and great service. There are at least 15 lunch special entrees to choose from, all cooked to order and piping hot from the kitchen. You could easily spend this at a fast food place for food that is really not all that good and no table service. The only down side is, it's not fast. Lots of locals eat here, and normally a bit crowded at lunch time, so allow about an hour from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. It's worth the wait.

The first time I went here was right after they opened. When I saw the prices on the wall...for a sandwich...I turned around and left.
I did decide to give it a whirl while meeting a friend for lunch last week. I had the pork sandwich with chips and banana pudding. The sandwich was great, but the banana pudding was a terrible decision. I was extremely disappointed to the point of throwing it away. It was runny/liquid consistency with no bananas. Also, the prices had actually gone UP since my first visit, so that made me cringe a little.
But, the worst part wasn't the pudding or the price. As my friend and I were talking at a booth near the ordering area, I happened to look up. The light fixture, which is hanging by a long metal rod directly overhead, was FULL of dead flies...as if it were a glue trap. These fixtures poles are very long and were completely filled. That was enough for both of us, and we quickly got up and left. We looked, and yes...it was like that on EVERY FIXTURE hanging over tables where people were eating. Gross. I won't be back.

2 years sobriety from Whitt's. Went home for Thanksgiving and busted it all.... Requested Whitt's pulled pork, precise- 2lbs, 24 buns, slaw and extra "wet sauce". A new member of the family was introduced to this amazing meal (2yr old) keeps asking for more..... Trip back home in two weeks to see grandma and Whitt's BBQ. Tasted the same for 25 years to me.... Still amazed they aren't #1.

Every time I am in the Decatur area, I have to visit Simp McGhee's. Their menu has so many choices but my favorite is Pat's Crab Cakes. I know, Decatur is no where near your typical crab hotspots but these are simply excellent! The blend of crab, spinach, and andouille sausage attacks your palate in a way most crab cakes do not.
My next best favorite is the Shrimp Scampi Ravioli. Again, the addition of the andouille sausage brings a special twist that you do not find in typical ravioli. The Chardonnay butter sauce adds a nice bit of elegance.
Those are just two of several excellent choices at Simp McGhee's. You will not go wrong!

Local in the downtown section of Decatur
A Gem of a restaurant / café! found the City Café through TripAdvisor and we are so glad we did. We were there for Breakfast! Atmosphere brought about the true small town feel! Knew when we came through the front doors this place was going to be great! Service second to none the restaurant was near full when we arrived but we were able to find a booth and was waited on right away the staff was all great and it was really good to see how they helped each other out and watched each others tables. Food was great and prices were just right! when close enough we will definitely visit again.
