We visit the Tuluwut located in Lake Mills, Iowa--and always enjoy it. On a recent camping holiday in Cresco (we love the clean, small town) we tried this Tuluwut. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
Typical of Midwest fare, the portions are huge. Unlike many Midwest diners, where the choices are limited and the food only average, this one excels! Our group of 9 had a variety of meals--and all were good (the exception was my wife--she didn't like the "texture" of the chicken in her salad--I thought it was good). The portions were huge--but some of the locals in neighboring booths ordered heaping Nacho plates, salad-bowl salads, and the topper--a 10" high burger with 3 patties, cheeses, fried onions, and 6 onion rings on a bun!) I've tried it--it was great--but I'm 6'4"--and could barely get it down. This guy ordered (and finished) TWO of them!.
The waitress was friendly and attentive, and answered questions about the establishment and the town. When she came back to check how everything was, my wife mentioned the chicken--she offered to replace it, but we didn't have time. When she presented the bill, she apologized--then took 20% off my wife meal (I see it was rung up as "employee rate") That's attention to detail--we will be going back on our next trip!

I quite enjoy stopping at the a&we in cresco! The manager is very attentive to the customers and his leadership shows in how his staff works. I've never had a bad experience here!

This Family Mexican Restaurant is rich in culture and has great food! Cuautla Jalisco invites you and your family to dine with us and experience authentic Mexican cuisine. Great tasting margaritas, well-drinks, and a vast selection of beers awaits your dining experience. Stop in and say "hola"!
This was our first visit to this new Mexican Restaurant in Cresco for a mid-afternoon lunch on a Saturday. Authentic Mexican, served fresh chips & salsa upon arrival. We saw others having good-looking margaritas (we just had water, soft drinks). Husband had Enchilada/Burrito combo plate, I had Burrito Colorado -- both delicious. Very nice decor, super clean. Friendly prompt service. Reasonable prices. We'll be back!

We had hoped to eat across the street, but they're closed on Sunday's. We decided to try Mabe's Pizza. We were there about 6:30pm. Maybe 4 other tables/booth's were occupied, so we were a little nervous.
Service was quick and friendly. We tried the appetizer basket. Not what was listed on the webpage, but it was a really good mix. My husband had the Broasted 1/2 chicken. He really liked it! The coleslaw was delicious. There will be plenty for a second meal. I chose the Around the Garden pizza. It was very good! It's a thin crust pizza, cut into squares. The bottom of the pizza wasn't the best, but the edge crust and ingredients were perfect! I ordered the 12" so I would have enough for a second meal also.
Their specialty is pizza, but they also serve the chicken, burgers, sandwiches and salads. They serve a small selection of beer.
We'll come back here on our annual snowmobiling trip to the area.

Panda Garden is a locally owned Chinese family restaurant. The food is Fresh, Hot, & Fast. Panda Garden does not offer a buffet but the food is Great and the portions are good sized but not huge. They have an excellent "hot & spicy" or some call "hot & sour" soup. They also have a great selection of Lunch specials for around $7.
I love Chinese food and there are definitely good and bad Chinese restaurants out there. The food hat Panda Garden is better than 80% of them out there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Casey's have came a long way with updating their store chain and what they offer. The Casey's in Cresco IA. has one of the BEST breakfast pizzas anywhere. Unless you are at a Fine Dining restaurant you will not likely find a better breakfast pizza. That is saying a lot for a gas station!

Ordered breakfast, food came fast and tasted food. Waitress was very good and provided good customer service. Environment was fun, all the farmers were in having their coffee like any real small hometown cafe. The only reason it’s not getting 5 stars is because it was odd to me that my omlette was an egg base with stuff sitting inside. The insides were not cooked in with the eggs. It was just odd to eat because all the inners fell onto the plate. It tasted good, though. :)

Reno's is an interesting place that is only open a few times per week. But if they are open, you go there. Who knew great BBQ could be found in Cresco, Iowa?!
