My girl friend and I wanted to try restaurants in LaGrange and saw this one on main street. Service is fast and friendly. My friend had the Baked Blueberry French Toast. The bread is dense and was not what she expected. She needed the compote addition because it was so dense and dry. Not a good choice. I had the Aussie Chicken sandwich. The chicken was not seasoned and I had to use the salt shaker which I never do. It was average sandwich. Portion size was good. We both decided we probably wont return.

Texas Roadhouse must be good. They ran a couple of other steakhouses out of the area. I found that the food is good. Closest thing to a good Blooming Onion usually offered by other places. The steaks are fresh and tender. The circus is good. They made me ride a wooden horse for my birthday.

Vie, named after the French word for life, offers seasonal, contemporary American cuisine inspired by Western European cultures and rustic fare. Chef and owner Paul Virant focuses on year-round seasonal eating with a menu featuring housemade pickles and preserves. Locally grown, artisan ingredients from Midwestern family farms are showcased. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
Visited here with business colleagues. It's tucked out of the way (seemed almost in a residential neighborhood), but well worth looking for. We had an amazing dinner, from charcuterie to dessert.

As Brookfield residents, we visit Irish Times fairly regularly, and often bring friends. This is a real, independently-owned Irish pub, not a chain restaurant, and so has an authentic feel. While the burgers are always good, and a bargain on Mondays ($5), I recommend the more Irish fare. The corned beef and cabbage dinner and the Irish breakfast are my favorites. The shepherd's pie is also very good, although even the best versions of that tend to be a bit bland. Add a slice of Irish bacon to the tomato and grilled cheese! The fish and chips (AYCE on Fridays) are excellent, quality flaky cod in a light tempura-style batter. A reasonably wide selection of beers and ciders on tap for a relatively small place. They used to make wonderful bread pudding with whiskey sauce, but the last time we ordered it, it came with caramel/chocolate sauce, which was fine, but not as good as the traditional. It can get crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings (or during special events/music performances - even rather crazy around St. Pat's day!), and the kitchen sometimes gets busy, so the wait for your meal to arrive can increase, but the service is always friendly and attentive. Try going early Sunday afternoon, especially in winter, when it's less crowded and you might get a table near the fireplace. The outdoor patio in back is great in warmer weather, entirely fenced-in and private. Over the years they've given in and added some big-screen TVs, but the volume is usually kept down, so minimally distracting. We've been coming here since smoking was allowed and many of the servers still had the Irish brogue. The BN Metra train station is just outside their door, so come visit Brookfield!

A group of five us went to Cooper's Hawk Winery to celebrate a birthday last Saturday night. It was pretty average experience. First, they put us at an expanded 4 top and the back of my chair was about 2 feet from the booth behind me. I was bumped and nudged by the wait staff throughout the meal. At a place this big, they should have a better spot for a party of five with a reservation. Not a good start.
The food was okay. I enjoyed the pot sticker, meatball, and brussel sprout appetizers that the group shared, but the skirt steak that I had for a main was not memorable. However, the experience really suffered from the timing of the meal. It was the entire time. First, we had a difficult time getting our waiter to take a cocktail order. Second, we didn't have table settings until the appetizers arrived, when we flagged down another server to get them. Next, the first bottle of wine was gone in the initial pour around the table. We weren't asked if we wanted another, and when we were finally able to request it, the bottle arrived just prior to dessert. Finally, all of the desserts came out at the same except one. It arrived once everyone else had finished. A weak excuse was offered, but no mention of taking it off the bill.
In the end, the food was okay, but the experience was disorganized and disjointed. Can't say that we'll be rushing back anytime soon.

The bakery is an absolutely adorable old-fashioned store. The chocolate frosting is incredible and their cakes are super moist and fluffy. The smiley face cookies are delicious and the tea cookies are as well. Sometimes the store can be really busy but most of the times it's not too bad at all. The coffee cakes and donuts are great if you want a sweet breakfast or for anytime really:). Their eclairs are really tasty and the little dessert cups are as well. Truly a great place in town and well worth a visit if you're passing through!

Andy's Frozen Custard is a quick service frozen dessert business. We are a freestanding restaurant with drive through and walk-up service windows. We sell delicious frozen custard treats. Andy's has a wide variety of treats from simple vanilla or chocolate cones to seasonal favorites like our Pumpkin Pie Concretes and Strawberry Shortcake Sundaes.
I was very impressed with Andy's. The shop was IMMACULATE and the custard was delicious. It was smooth, creamy and not too sweet. They had a great selection of mix-ins. There were six employees working and the lines moved quickly and efficiently. I agree that this custard tastes like Ted Drewes in St. Louis. I would definitely go to Andy's instead of the Dairy Queen.

Went with friends for dinner at their suggestion for Bohemian foods. Food was hearty and tasty. They have a great selection of bohemian foods including goulash, dumplings, sausage, and pickled beef.
They offer daily specials.
There also are some seafood items on the menu.
You must same room for dessert including kolacky and cheesecake.
One point is that they don't take credit cards.

prasino means "green" in Greek. So, it is only natural that every choice we make, from our food to our restaurant design to our kitchen facilities, reflects our respect for a sustainable environment. Our priority is serving hormone/anti-biotic free meats, sustainable seafood, organic produce and eggs. Every effort is made to buy locally whenever possible, but we have also sought out exceptional ingredients from around the country from like-minded vendors. We are proud to present our Contemporary American menu in a refreshing, comfortable atmosphere that celebrates the love of good food, good conversation and friendship.
I would actually give 3 1/2 stars...service was very, very slow. We were sitting there for about 15 minutes before anyone came over to ask us about drinks. I ordered a decaf coffee, which was lukewarm. My friends ordered mimosas, which they said were good. I ordered the healthy wrap, which had egg whites, mushrooms, onions, a little cheese, and avocado, but the charred tomato salsa was missing. Another friend ordered the same thing, but asked for no mushrooms...when served, there were mushrooms, so they made her a new one pretty quickly. The other two people ordered the frittata and the bacon omelet. The bacon omelet was huge, filled with cheese, and delicious. All were served with roasted potatoes, which were pretty good.
