Columbia is a census-designated place in Howard County, Maryland, United States, and is one of the principal cities of the Baltimore metropolitan area. It is a planned community consisting of 10 self-contained villages. It began with the idea that a city could enhance its residents' quality of life. Creator and developer James W. Rouse saw the new community in terms of human values, rather than merely economics and engineering. Opened in 1967, Columbia was intended to not only eliminate the inconveniences of then-current subdivision design, but also eliminate racial, religious, and class segregation.

Stopped in for visit with friends. We had some of the best food ever. The Spicy Cauliflower bites appetizer was amazing. Next I had the Autumn Crisp, which was really fantastic. My spouse had the jackfruit BBQ sandwich which was also great. The service was excellent and I definitely would visit again.

What a wonderful meal and experience at the Royal Taj on a snowy, dreary day.
My friend Dave and I got to the Taj a little early on this snowy Tuesday and the owners allowed us in and we settled into a 'fireplace nook' for a wonderful meal and business discussion.
The buffet was fantastic and we both went back a few times. By the time we left, the place was packed and everyone had a smile on their faces.
The owner greeted us on our way out asking us to come back soon, we certainly will!!
The Royal Taj is a 'must visit' restaurant in Columbia, you must visit!!

My sister and brother-in-law are regulars at this fine Indian Cuisine restaurant and for good reason -- in their words -- consistency in the service, the culinary experience, the tasty food. Our chicken tikka and tikka masala and chana masala had a nice kick. Service is attentive but not overbearing. Portions huge so you always have tomorrow's lunch in tow. We'll be back again...and again...and again.

A very creative chef and a very attentive manager deliver an outstanding dining experience every time.
The food cannot be classified as ethnic, although it follows a strong Indian flair and Indian nomenclature, it is not recommended for those wanting genuine Indian offerings.
There is truly something for everyone, even classic beef eaters, and it is all good.
The decor is great - interesting but comforting, and the temperature suits the guests, not the servers, as in some other locations.

This is my go-to place when meeting friends for lunch or taking my god-daughter to a grown-up lunch. Their food is fresh, on the lighter side, and we'll prepared. I often get a chicken salad or a soup. Energetic wait staff are friendly and helpful...MoreThanks for a great review! Happy to hear such positive feedback. Glad you like our salads, definitely a very popular choice off of our menu!

I've visited various Mission BBQ restaurants when visiting Maryland. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because I found the prices higher than other Bar B Q places that I've been to. The food portions are good. When you combine the meat, sides and drink the price is higher than others. I had their smoked prime rib. Very Good! The bread pudding is outstanding.

My husband and I went to brunch Sunday afternoon and had very nice brunch with appetizer cheese and charcuterie platter. Highly recommend this place for couples date scene. Not great choice for children but good occasional place to go with a nice Sunday drive.

For starters, subpar sushi. However, what truly stands out about this establishment as the most egregious testament to the underlying belief system of management and staff, is the prejudicial manner in which staff treats minorities.
I have visited this establishment on several occasions, to personally witness staff treat minority patrons with disdain, especially towards closing time. My entire family, inclusive of my African-American girlfriend and her entire family, will never patron this establishment again. I am continuing to spread the word about these perceived prejudicial actions on the part of the staff at Sushi Sono.
I encourage those who have had a similar experience to voice your thoughts on your experience as well.
