Tucked up on a hill across the street from Lowe’s Foods, this family-owned place always missed my radar...until a date lunch brought us to Clemmons.
The dining room is cozy, clean, and feels like home. The menu shared a strong variety of BBQ offerings, including the chopped pork you’d expect. The pork was tender, flavorful, moist without being greasy. My hubby got the pork platter with in-house handmade chips, white slaw, and puppies. The white slaw was mixed with just the right amount of mayo and the perfect balance of a hit of sweet and salty.
I opted for the Carolina Chicken Plate with baked beans and red slaw, and puppies, of course. The beans have a nice twang that I really liked. Red slaw was perfect with just enough vinegar to keep it interesting.
The real star of my plate was the chicken. Tender chopped meat is smoked it lightly tossed with just enough Carolina Gold sauce to not overpower the smoked flavor. The Carolina Gold sauce is a house specialty and is bottled for take-home for your own culinary adventures.
When the trays come to the table, the server also brings a bottle vinegar-based sauce the feels as though it was heated on the back of the warmer. That liquid deliciousness was just the right touch to the puppies...but that may be sacrilegious in some circles!
The entire meal for 2 was under $25, including beverages. This gem has earned a place in our collection of small, local family-owned lunch or supper stops. Check it out, I’m sure it’ll become one of your regular stops too!

A new ice cream shop serving Hershey's ice cream.
It's ICE CREAM !
Can be a challenge getting into and out of parking lot from the main road at certain times of the day. Note*, there is an exit at the back area that takes you out via the shopping center, which I use sometimes. Not sure how well that will work once Krispy Kreme opens.
The inside area is very small. But there is also outside seating when the weather is good. Many flavor choices and treat options! Prices are as you would expect but not outrageous.
Looking forward to my next visit ! Try the coconut/chocolate chip/ almond ! Just like an almond joy candy bar , yum yum !

We are frequent customers. My dog loves the Puppacinos. :) They're free! The drivethrough is fast and efficient. The location is a little weird with a hilly entrance drive but its not a big deal if you know that its tucked in close to the entrance to Walgreens.

Me and the wife went tonight for dinner. Sushi rolls were great. Always fresh and large. Service was best we've ever experienced here. 4 different servers combined for drink refills etc. We will return again soon. Great job!!

Christina's did a gorgeous cake for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. It was an Italian Cream Cake and it was delicious. Even on short notice, they came up with a beautiful design just right for our party. Highly recommend for any special occasion cake.

I really don't have a strong opinion about the food at Pete's. It's pretty good and inexpensive. My problem is with the layout of the entrance/waiting area.
I suppose this is a good problem to have, because if the restaurant weren't popular then this wouldn't be an issue for me. There's limited seating while waiting for a table (but to be honest, this is not uncommon at many other places). This means folks are standing between the entrance and the dining area, by the restroom doors and around the cashier stand (which is "conveniently in the middle of this area). I would prefer to wait outside when it's like this, but there's no loudspeaker or pagers used, so you're forced to endure the crowd. Ugh.

If you are looking for great seafood that isn't fried, this is the place to go. They have a great selection along with fresh catch of the day items. I love the Grouper and Mahi and my fiance loves the Full Moon that comes with oysters, scallops, shrimp, and crab legs. They have a full bar and great service.

Had dinner tonight with excellent food and service. The sirloin was tender, perfect medium rare. I asked for no salt and it was prepared as I asked and had great flavor. My wife loved her "Domo arigato."
Above all, our waiter, Kenny, was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. He was truly professional by any international standard. He added the finishing touches to a perfect evening.

Decided to get take out based off a recommendation from a friend. Looked on line, placed order, went to pick it up. When I first arrived, it was obvious the lady up front wasn't so sure what she was doing. Questioning the staff, who apparently knew what they were doing. She was questioning every order to make sure they got it right. Finally she arrived at my order, told her my name, I made sure my salad had no olives. She didn't even open the box, went back to her staff and questioned them about the olives. Sure enough, no olives. Good job staff! So she rings my order up and my total is a good $10 more than my anticipated spend (2 adults, 3 kids). I questioned the price of just the wings and her response was, "yeah, I can't figure out how to change the prices on the website, and they've been wrong for a couple years. I just don't have time to figure it out..." what?!?!?! So, I paid, left and got home to eat. Come to find out, my total order was "spot on!" Good job staff. Might need a new owner though. Food was actually pretty good though. 50/50 chance of me going back.

We were a group of 12 golfers looking for an easy and enjoyable meal after a slightly rainy round of golf. We had made a reservation for 12. Upon arrival, no reservation was found. Not sure why. However, they were apologetic, and immediately were able to seat us a 2 tables of 6. That was no problem for us. Also no problem with the fact we wanted separate checks. That worked for them. Our server immediately helped us out, and was very efficient. I had the Brick Oven Combo sandwich, which is Turkey, ham, and bacon on a hoagie bun - a warm sandwich. And it was very good. The rest of our group had a wide variety of items, ranging from chicken marsala to a pizza. Everyone was very happy when we left. The restaurant is casual, friendly, and has a wide variety of items to choose from. I would think this would be a great family spot. As we come back every year, I think this will be a spot we will definitely return to.
