The windy city is a cornucopia of modern art, fine dining, cutting edge comedy, and die-hard sports fans. Snap a photo of your reflection in the silver Cloud Gate sculpture at Millennium Park before heading to Grant Park to get hit with the refreshing spray of Buckingham Fountain. There are dozens of museums and theater companies in Chicago, so a cultural experience is never hard to find. You’re sure to laugh your head off at the Second City Theater, the professional launch pad of many famous comedians.

April 2, 1983. In a city known for meat packing & hog butchering, a brave pair of optimistic vegetarians opened a ground breaking meat free eatery called The Chicago Diner. Since then, co-owners Mickey Hornick & Jo Kaucher, have built a reputation for wowing customers with unique and innovative dishes, changing minds about “The Way a Diner Should Be”. Eventually, they settled on the charming slog
Plenty of vegetarian restaurants go either the way of mung sprouts or "imitation" meat dishes. While the Chicago Diner has some of those dishes, most just are real food made without meat. We started with sweet potato croquets (subtle and yummy) with a soy-based "yogurt" sauce. One friend had a big salad with a bean-based protein, another had delicious chili and a salad with (yes) sprouts sprinkled on top. They were happy with their choices. I had worked up a big appetite and had a phenomenal "meat loaf" of grains and vegetables, with lots of spices, with mushroom sauce. It was solid and filling and the portion was so huge that I brought almost half home. It came with fresh string beans, lightly sauteed, and baked baby potatoes, fresh and just wonderful in taste and consistency. All of us had generous portions. Service was cheerful, friendly, and accurate. My only gripe, very slight, is that it can be noisy. Still, loved it!

Yes it’s a 3 Michelin star restaurant so one already goes there with big expectations for great food.
But this restaurant is not only about great tasting food. It’s a show... an Emmy award winning show.
Fabulous presentations , sensational experiences for all your senses , wonderful visuals , great smells,
impeccable service and so much more. All runs like clockwork . So if you just want good food and some relaxation , this is not for you . But if you enjoy creativity and new experiences .... run and get a reservation .

I come here about once a quarter and the ribs are delish! Great portions, bbq sauces and sides. I’m not a big fan of their coleslaw as it’s made with a vinaigrette.

Simply an amazing meal in a great atmosphere. The stone crabs are everything , the 1 pound Alaskan crab was delicious and the 24 ounce bone-in rib eye was perfect. Just a great meal, though expensive, totally worth it!

A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Bavette's embraces French flair without the formality, blending fine dining with unabashed fun. Guests can indulge in seafood towers, richly flavorful ribeyes, classic side dishes and house made desserts, as well as classic cocktails and a well-curated international wine list.
What a great restaurant! I made a reservation way ahead of time and so pleased I did! The atmosphere in here is great, very chic and 1920s. We started with some cocktails which were great, shared an app and then both had a steak. The food was incredible. Sure, it was pricey ($300 for 2 inc. bottle of wine) but totally worth it.

Girl & the Goat has been serving fun foods, craft beers, and making wine in a rustic and kick-butt environment since summer 2010. The restaurant opens at 4:30 every day, and stays open until 11pm on weeknights and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (until those last late night eaters scrape their fork across the plate for the last time, or finish licking their plates until they're shiny and clean). The Goat's menu is divided into three categories: Vegetable, Fish, and of course Meat--while vegetable, fish, or meat are respectively the main stars of their categories, there are crossovers in each area so you'll get a little bit of everything. Bread is baked daily, and there are always new creations on the menu. Girl & the Goat sits in the West Loop smack dab in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor, but the location is still gritty enough to appeal to the chef’s integrity. The Goat has a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help.Girl & the Goat blended their own wine, and it's tasty. There are beers on tap from Three Floyd’s and a couple others. If you're lucky, you might come across the elusive collaboration beers that Stephanie personally crafted with a couple of beer buddy cohorts. In addition to tap beers, there's also a bunch of bottles to choose from. Girl & the Goat is open 7 days a week, because The Goat is a tireless beast, and besides, who needs rest anyway? Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.
Called in advance if we can do a walk in, and they accommodated us. Sat on the bar. We ordered cocktails and food was unique and amazing. The duck tongues were the highlight. Pork shank is delicious, cooked perfectly. Actually everything, including the drinks, was amazing.

We arrived on Friday morning and were it would be a 30min wait. We decided to walk around the area to pass the time. Gave our name
and number and got a text after 20min to confirm if still planned to dine. 5min later got a call to let us know our table would be ready in 5min. We arrived and were promptly seated. The place was jammed packed. My lady ordered the Jambalaya Omelete and although I am a pancake man, I took our servers recommendation and ordered the 5 Flight French Toast with a side of Homemade Chicken Sausage. OMG, we were blown away by our tasty and flavorful meals. The chicken sausage was the Truth and the omelete had an equisite Cajun flaver ! It was easy to see why this place is so popular..the food is outstanding. Will check out again on our next visit to the Windy City.
