We were going to another restaurant but it was closed so we found this little diner. Good find. Good service and homemade food. Homemade fries, still have a milkshake machine. If you are looking for good atmosphere, food and service give this place a try!

We stopped here from a long car ride up north and thought that the prices were good compared to out DQ in our city. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. We got three ice cream special orders and no mistakes were made. I wish they could do the hot fudge different instead of just around the middle. I would go to Dairy Queen in all cities because they are usually consistent in quality for fast food-dessert place.

It all started back in 2004 when Ross and Linda Downing built "The Freezer and The Oven". This local favorite had some of the best ice cream and pizza in Caro, Michigan. The Downing's then saw an opportunity to move their business a couple blocks down to the old Capri Restaurant Building. Ross and Linda were not strangers to this building. They had both worked there in the past, Ross as a cook and Linda as a waitress. Once they moved into the old Capri Restaurant they made the decision to simply make the name of the restaurant The Oven. From that point on, they have been making The Oven what it is today: An American-Italian family friendly restaurant with a lounge. The Oven is located just outside of downtown Caro, Michigan. The Oven pride's themselves in their family-friendly atmosphere and great service, but don't take our word for it. Come and see for yourself!
This resturant also owns the club 24. The food is ho-hum Italian food. Along with some other regular food like steak, pork chips. Also has a bar available in the resturant and a salad bar nightly.
Has a couple rooms so good for parties but can be pretty highly priced

We went here for a quick stop while in the area. I ordered one of the breakfast specials, others ordered lunch. My breakfast was cooked perfectly, and I am very picky with other's services.(hotels, stores, restaurants). I got the breakfast with hash browns, eggs, ham, toast. Very fast service, clean building and bathrooms, food was delicious. I have been known to return food if not cooked as specified, but this little place was great enough to return anytime! Other family member's burger was big, done perfectly, condiments fresh, french fries, hot and crispy.
We also ordered sandwiches and fries to go with us for the road. Even heated up later, they were very good. This is a very hot spot on Fridays for their fish fry, as I am told by many locals.

Here you will get Grinders! You can go in to sit, but basically a fast food restaurant. Grinders are made with a different type of bread and then put through a oven. I have to say I was disappointed as I thought this was like the Mancino's in Lapeer, but not nearly as good!

Good meeting space. Excellent service - quick turnaround on drink orders. Clean space, well lit, easy access to rest rooms. Snack foods just average, but we felt very well taken care of throughout the night. Highly recommended for that reason alone. Tip of the cap to the staff!

The food was minimal. Salad bar had wilted slimy lettuce & old red onion. Wasn't worth the extra $3.99. The bathrooms were dirty, my shoes stuck to the floor. And lastly my server told us strange things. Said she'd been away from the floor for a while because she went to the bathroom. Didn't need to know that, TMI! I didn't expect it to be a 5 star restaurant but at this point 2 would be nice.

Love this local resturant. Has a community feel. The breakfast was huge and the right place. I had the southern omlt. It was enough for myself and my 10yr old. Service is cozy and always on top of our coffee. This is my Sunday Breakfast location.

If it wasn't for this pizza chain, we wouldn't be able to get pizza delivered, living far enough out of the city limits that the other chains snub us.

Four stars because they love American and honor servicemen and women and veterans; they are only charged 50% for their meal!!
This is an old diner - very large, really large and not crowded - clean. A variety with burgers, ribs, steaks, and fish.
Lots of locals eat here regularly - and the staff knows everyone. There are silhouettes of service personnel (wish I could find my pics) and patriotic displays on the wall and newspaper articles about locals who have served.
