The BearWaters Brewing Company taproom is a great place to hang with family and friends year round. New to the area, no worries our people are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We feature up to 16 of our great signature and rotating beers on tap at all times. Our venue includes both indoor and outdoor space for you and your pets. Come enjoy our state of the art sound system that allows us to feature many great local musicians to come and showcase their talents and original works. We offer special event space rental for private parties and corporate functions.
We have visited many small breweries across the country. This is a most stop. The staff was friendly, brew assume, and the small cafe offered good snacks and sandwiches. I enjoyed the Chile, while the Cajun poor boy was well received.

This DQ is attached to a gas station. They had no burgers on the menu. When we asked for iced tea, they only had sweet tea. Pepsi products were the available soft drink choice. So if you're stopping for the traditional DQ soft serve, you will be satisfied. The chicken sandwiches and pretzels we had were pretty good, just not what we really wanted. Staff were friendly.

Traveling through the area, we stopped at the Ingalls' (food market) Starbucks. Three dollar breakfast sandwiches (special today) with every latte, we ordered spicy chorizo and reduced fat Turkey, both hot and delicious! The lattes were great, it's the consistently good products, friendly customer service along with a squeaky clean work area that we have come to expect. Good job, young ladies at Starbucks in Ingall's!

This brought us right back to our summer's on the lake and delicious marina food. Amazing burgers and sides, I had tator tots! We had to each get two scoops of hand dipped ice cream in a cone. While I don't believe it is homemade, it is delicious. Staff was fine. Price was great. Very casual and comfortable setting. They were doing a killer to go business too.

Due to freezing rain on the highway we decided to stay the night at Americas Best Value Inn and Sagebrush was within walking/skating distance. Extremely nice staff, particularly the bartender and assistant general manager. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare and the sides were perfect. Couldn't have asked for more!

I prefer more fat in my ground beef than their organic grass fed beef. Choices were mixed between all of us depending on age, proclivities, etc. As a 70 year old crumugeon I am old school. As a result, I am not always in agreement with the newest trends. I look for 75 to 85% fat. Their grass fed beef, in my opinion, was closer to 90%. I actually preferred my wife’s standard burger. My daughter preferred my burger. Everyone has different tastes. You can chose your preferences. A good experience.

If you want history, comfort, and good food, take a day trip, or go down the street, to the Southern Porch in Canton, NC's old, historical Imperial Hotel on Main Street. Convenient parking in a free public lot across the street. A refreshing change in menu and location from the nearby larger towns.
Check out their well-done website for menu, directions, hours of operation, and history of the Imperial Hotel.
A trip to Canton, and Southern Porch, is not just about history, the restaurant serves great food by owners with plenty of restaurant experience at previous good locations in the area. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Seating for a meal in the bar area or the restaurant area. Outside seating available during good weather.
We had the fish and woodchips with slaw, and it was very good and a plate full of food. Full service bar and locally made craft beers available.
The Southern Porch is an excellent location for good food, some history, and entertainment during certain evenings. Check out their schedule. A great asset for the town of Canton.

When you walk in the door you are greeted by friendly faces. The BBQ was a little expensive and had a lot of fat in it, but the waffle fries and the Mac&cheese was delicious and hot. They have crushed ice for the drinks, which is my favorite! The restaurant was clean, which is a plus!

Canelos opened up in the old Pizza Hut building. Same layout but with Mexican food. Great salsa bar. Big servings of entree's. I've never ordered their margaritas but the giant margarita glasses are tempting. Old building but food is good and atmosphere makes you want to drink a beer and eat chips and salsa all night. Menu is quite large.

When we are looking for a local restaurant with Mexican cuisine, this is our first choice. The food is always fresh and the service is always quick. We never wait more than 10 minutes for our food. The waiters speak fluent English and Spanish which makes it easy to order. My husband recommends the Chapala super
