For over a decade, Roma Pizzeria has been Canaan's destination for good food and great memories! Relax with friends or family in our comfortable atmosphere while you grab a bite to eat, or call in for a delivery. Our menu features a variety of items from crisp salads to delicious pizzas to grinders! Guests rave about our Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and our tortellini. Stop in throughout the week for lunch specials but don't forget about our weekend dinner specials! We look forward to serving you soon at Roma Pizzeria!
This looks like a hole in the wall next to the railroad track but it serves excellent food in king-sized portions at low prices. The pizza is very good, but the pastas and entrees, served with bread baked on the premises, and large salads are an exceptional value. If two people share you'll still have left overs. The sea food chowder is only served on weekends - try it.

Coffee Shop, Bakery
Sweet William's Bakery hits all the right notes. The coffee and hot chocolate are delicious, and the cakes, buns, and assorted pastries are equally tasty with the perfect amount of decadence. The service and the feel are super friendly.

The more casual Tap Room, open daily for lunch and dinner, offers elevated British-inspired comfort food, and is led by beloved British Chef Annie Wayte.
This feels like a home away from home stepping into the front door. There are different dining experiences under one roof. My favorite is the Tap Room, which features traditional and local standard menu items. The produce is obtained locally from area farms, as well as some of the meats. The tap room is popular, lively, great food and drink, welcoming atmosphere. Provisions - a cafe probably mostly designed for in house guests also has tasty and imaginiative options for breakfast and lunch.

People come a long way to eat at the Woodlands. They have the most varied menu in the region and it is all EXCELLENT! They have just about anything you could want in a fine restaurant including an amazing wine cellar. If you are in the area and want a great meal, try the Woodlands...but be smart and get a reservation.

Of the best meals I've ever had and could not have asked for a cozier colonial setting. Arrive a little early and enjoy sitting in the cozy bar to exchange some laughs or thought provoking conversations with the locals and other dinner guests. It was a lovely quiet dinner with terrific service- attentive without being intrusive. Halibut was excellent and so was the potato leek soup. My husband had the lamb along with the squash and pancetta risotto which he found to be prepared to perfection. The majority of guests that evening were staying at the inn, however, we made a 45min trek through beautiful long and winding roads to get there- the trip was definitely worth it and we look forward to returning. We encourage you to include this stop on your Berkshire "to-do" list if you are traveling with your significant other, close friends or even alone.

While maintaining its firm roots as a comfortable and casual restaurant, Mountainside Cafe's new Farm-to-Table menu highlights fresh seasonal ingredients from the community while including healthy updates to old favorites, introductions to new classics, and a selection of vegetarian options.
We stopped in here for lunch on a Saturday and all they offered all day was a brunch menu.
The good news was that they had many options for us to enjoy.
I had a buffalo chicken sandwich. It was grilled rather than fried which certainly made it a healthier option. The buffalo sauce was not the usual Frank's red hot but something a little darker in color and smokyer. It was quite tasty but not as spicy as I like.
The others in our party had the crabcake sandwich. The crabcake was very tasty and had a good mix between breadcrumbs and crab meat.
I would come here for lunch again next time I'm in the area.

Toymakers Cafe is a quirky, unique little spot in the second smallest town in Connecticut. The food is outstanding, served in an unassuming storefront, decorated with homages to motorcycles and cars. (No surprise that bikers and hikers of the Appalachian Trail find their way here for a hearty meal). The biscuits and sausage gravy breakfast served with poached eggs ("we only make scrambled or poached here...") was fabulous, as are the waffles, served by Ma and cooked by Pa (not the proprietors real names -- more a nod to the heartwarming ambiance of the restaurant). What a great way to start the day! I erroneously referred to this restaurant as "The Toy Store" in a Trip Advisor review of the Falls Village Inn -- also a great spot right around the corner; my apologies to and enthusiastic endorsement of Toymakers Cafe!

Located in the historical center of Norfolk, CT, the Wood Creek Bar & Grill offers a delicious lunch & dinner American Grill Fare. Try the infamous Buffalo Burger with mushrooms and Provolone topped with a crunchy Onion Ring. The French Chicken Breast is tenderly cooked with a crispy skin. Light fare such as soups, salads, & sandwiches, or try entrees such as rib eye steak or roasted duck. Full Bar service separate from the dining room.
My wife and I were visiting in the area and thought we'd give it a try. In a word, tasty! She had a wonderfully huge strawberry salad that was nice and fresh. I tried the bison burger and fries. Excellent. Have to admit it was the first time I ever had one. The atmosphere was nice and even the bathrooms were clean. My ONLY reason for not giving it 5 stars was our waitress was a little nonchalant and not very attentive. Maybe just having a bad day. Don't let that turn you off though, give it a try. If we're ever in the area I know we will.
