The food is from local farms and the burgers and cheeses are sooooo appetizing. They bring the best in freshly prepared foods to your table. The portions are huge, the food is unique and delicious, made from hand-selected, local produce and farms. You won't leave hungry or disappointed!
This is a small restaurant located intentionally in Wolfe County so they could offer beer on the menu.

Campton's Dairy Queen is a convenient stopping point between our home and frequent destinations. Handy for a rest stop and quick snack. I'm not sure what happened on our most recent visit, but it was as if no one knew what they were supposed to do. I stepped to the counter and said, "One large, vanilla cone." The girl said, "Large or medium?" I repeated my order. She then asked, "Vanilla, chocolate, or swirled?" I repeated vanilla. She then rang up a medium cone. I corrected her. She then created the two cones in the accompanying photos. I told her they looked like (Frozen's) Olaf, after the spring thaw. She thanked me.
In case you're wondering, I do not have a speech impediment or heavy accent. A normal "large" cone is about 50% thicker. I'm pretty patient. It's not often that you can get a snack and entertainment.

Enjoyed a delicious cheeseburger and onion rings at this conveniently located family owned restaurant in Campton. We were served by an immediate of the owner, and she treated us with the warmth and hospitality that I would expect she serves her own family! It was a bit of a chilly, rainy day, even though it was the middle of summer, when we got there and my friend wanted hot chocolate. Even though I could tell by the server's reaction they probably didn't have any in stock she said she would be sure and check. Sure enough she produced a hot steaming cup of hot chocolate! Friendly, genuine service is important to me, and sometimes that doesn't always happen in small local diners, but we have been treated with this kind of care every time we've popped in, whether for coffee or a meal. The food is delicious! I highly recommend stopping here if you are visiting all of the natural wonders that are to be found nearby.

We weren't sure what to expect, and the menu was rather limited and unique, but we enjoyed every bit of it! The humus was excellent, as was the quesadilla.

My colleagues and I ate here on one of our visits to Campton and had the pleasure of meeting the owners as well as being served their famous fare that has kept them in business for around 30 years. Your served a side of coleslaw if you buy a box lunch (mine was cheeseburger and fries and a drink) for a good round number of five dollars. Our waitress that day was so quick and friendly as well. The place is absolutely decked out with Wildcat gear (Go Big Blue!) which is really fun! This is a great place to get a good meal at a good price as well as to find out from the local community (the owners are very active volunteers and care very much about their hometown) about more to explore in this beautiful county.

We stopped here and picked up sandwiches for our cooler on the way to hiking the Red River Gorge area. Very clean establishment and quick service. Food was fresh. The place gets very busy around lunchtime which to me is a good sign.
