Calexico is a city in Imperial County, California. The population was 38,572 at the 2010 census, up from 27,109 at the 2000 census. Calexico is about 122 miles (196 km) east of San Diego and 62 miles (100 km) west of Yuma, Arizona. The name of the city is a portmanteau of California and Mexico, which, like that of its adjacent sister city of Mexicali, emphasizes its identity as a border city.

Same as anywhere in the world. Coffee tastes burned, but the place is super clean, music, tables, chairs, internet. The yuge

Don't know how it compares to other Denny's but I'd say it holds its own. We had a couple of salads for dinner and both were fresh and made from an interesting selection of leaves. Service prompt and friendly. And I think this is unusual, isn't it - it serves liquor: a small range of bottled beers and a couple of wines in individual airline-style screwtops.

I will give this place one more chance. Not so much to redeem itself; More to see (for my own sick humor) if one of the poorest customer service moments might be able to be recreated. My friend who is vegitarian ordered a cheese quesadilla with guacamole. When it was given to her it had stray peices of meat attached to the outside of the tortilla. A side points also worth mentioning: no guacamole was given and the cheese resemble "government" cheese. My friend demanded her money back and was ready to move on. This served as a mild destraction as I awaited my burrito, ordering first I figured mine had meat and would take longer. I accepted this. Not until my friend quesadilla experiece had ended did I ask if my burrito was almost ready, Being passed from the font counter to te back "Understood" was yelled from the kitchen. This is when I noticed a cook eating my friends quesadilla. The other cook strolls to the front fills his soda cup. strolls back. nearing the 10 minute mark and wrecked nerves from a three hour wait to cross the border, I was about to boil. I ask once more about my burrito.....they retook my order. and delivered with in two minutes of my request. I stood out like a sore thumb, no one acknowledged me, I asked for my order twice, cook snarled at me and three pieces of grizzle in my burrito. To the trash it went!!!

Very convenient to the Best Western John Jay Inn, had dinner and had a minor issue. We asked to speak with the manager on shift, she came and we discussed the issue , the manager was very pleasant and courteous. the issue was resolved in a very nice way. We were very pleased with the manager accommodated us. The server was also very friendly and polite. The food arrived in a timely manner, the service was great. We would go back in the future again.

Wonderful !!! The Carne Asada is cooked right there on the grill --the tacos are great. The Shrimp tacos are not those doughy fried things -- these are rock shrimp without dough , tucked neatly into your taco ! Tacos come with plate of "additions" - pickled carrots, onions, chilies and sauces. Tacos $2/ Shrimp tacos $3. There is also a wonderful soup, wonderful other stuff.... but the TACOS !!!!

We were down in the Calexico area for a TV shoot and wanted to find a good lunch stop for the crew. I thought I found Los Arricifes on TripAdvisor, but I was wrong - it was missing from TripAdvisor and was on Yelp, instead. Well, it's time to make sure folks on TripAdvisor know about this place since it's off the beaten track a little bit and it's well worth a stop.
Los Arrecifes is a pleasant restaurant with colorful murals on the wall. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming, with great attentive service. And the food - well, wow, describes it best. We ordered this seafood volcano looking thing that was about $20 per person, with fresh prawns, fish, octopus, ceviche, and all sorts of wonderfully yummy seafood. We couldn't finish it all since it was so enormous, but we sure had a great time trying.
Everyone in our party was delighted with this find, and we're happy as can be to have found a decent place to dine when we're down on the border. This place is also a locals hang-out, with the police stopping in for meals while we were there. It's truly an excellent choice for seafood when you're in Calexico.

Went twice. Once with my wife and once with my mother and family. Very nice spot. It's a small old home, where each bedroom was converted into a different theme in this small café. It's a cute and unique place.
I'm not into sweets. But their savory crepes are delicious and filling. My wife likes all their sweet and fruit crepes. They also have delicious Horchata Fraps. Would definitely recommend to others.

This was my first visit to Calexio. The second day of my visit I decided on fast food.
I got the large combo meal for chicken sandwich. It was hot outside so I ordered through the drive thru. The pick-up was very fast, even with several cars ahead of me. Ate the meal in my hotel room , very good. Clerk was very generous with napkins and sauces..This restaurant is located near the major hotels in Calexico.

Another Carl's Junior that has saved my but in many occasions! The Mexicali Desert heat is relentless, and sometimes you need a mans sized Burger! And the Six Dollar Burger is whats for dinner!
