Sports bar sure, college town sports bar alittle different. I watched wrestling alumni showing what they remember during the good ol days! Its was crazy. I am SDSU alumni but not that dedicated.
Lots of things on the menu. Waitresses said thai nachos or italian nachos! So we had the thai ones. Very good but not quite enough for both of us so we shared the cheese steak sandwich too.. i know.. now we are stuffed!

Had lunch at Zesto with his son and family at their suggestion Sunday 19 JUN 2016. The lady who took our order could not have been more gracious and kind. Food was prepared quickly and was hot. Atmosphere was family oriented and pleasant.

Our burgers are made fresh to order, with fresh (never frozen) ground beef. The delicious buns are made fresh daily with our own secret recipe. Burgers are topped with your choice of ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, cheese, or our homemade mustard dill relish. Don't forget dessert! We have delicious homemade pie, rolls, shakes, and malts! We also serve breakfast from 8-10:30AM. Try our traditional burger topped with a fresh fried egg!
Been eating them since the mid sixties. Think they were selling for 10 cents a piece. Classic cafe no booth seating. Have burgers with or without cheese. Shakes , malts and pop. Eat in and enjoy your burger on a sheer sheet of paper. You get to wear the flavor for the rest of the day. Enjoy em buy the bag.

I love both of the Cottonwoods in Brookings. The downtown Cottonwood has a decidedly more hipster feel with lots of great local art adorning the walls, and comfortable seating including overstuffed chairs. They both offer delicious, gourmet sandwiches. I have only had their coffee to drink, but it is excellent. A fun, relaxing atmosphere coupled with excellent food and drink makes the Cottonwood a top pick

A small, family-owned group of restaurants, hand-crafting food since 1995. We feature wood-fire grilled steaks cooked over full-size logs of oak and ash, award-winning BBQ slow-smoked on premise, homemade desserts and much more.
We stopped here for lunch in transit, fought through the construction zone (the bad), had a Pork Sandwich and the Brisket Sandwich (the good), both with soggy fries (nuf said) but overall it was a good meal. Good service, $28 pre-tip, we'd stop here again...MoreThank you for your feedback Alex, we're sorry to hear that your fries were prepared incorrectly - when made right our hand-cut fresh potato fries are fantastic! We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and hope to see you again.

Established in 1949. The Pheasant Café opened in 1949, has been owned by the same couple since 1966 and run by 3 generations of the family since then! The professional team and the fans of this local hub form the "Pheasant fam." Locals affectionately call this place "The Bird." The Pheasant serves inspired takes on upscale-casual SoDak favorites, real food in the heart of the farm belt. Housemade artisan ice creams. Local lamb and bison. Live Jazz on Mondays (Sept. through May). Retail wine shop on site with a huge selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars to taste and shop. The private-label coffee is on all day (organic, fair trade, locally roasted). Full-service cocktail bar, microbrews, world-class wines. Watch the sun set over the prairie horizon from the backyard patio!
After a week of on-the-road chain food...wanted some local fare. The groundswell opinion led us to the Pheasant Restaurant in Brookings...good call.

Gourmet cuisine / full bar with handcrafted cocktails / great place to hang out / located across from the Children's Museum of South Dakota
I was in Brookings for business and decided to try something different (having eaten at Pheasant and Craft multiple times). OME proved to be a good alternative. The atmosphere was quiet (even though I sat at the bar) but nice. The menu is different for Brookings... I ended up with a chicken dish which was solid though not unbelievable. The beer list is good with a few local alternatives. Price was perhaps a little high for Brookings but you pay for the atmosphere and unique menu. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Though the bar was fine I would love to come back with colleagues to sit on the "patio" with great lighting. I'll be back.

The least expected option for a dining experience on the Prairie.
We moved to Brookings 4 years ago and were skeptical of sushi in the middle of the prairie, but we found an amazing experience that continues to delight. I have never had anything but a great experience.
