We were in town on a statewide bike ride, visited the restaurant for dinner with two other friends. We were really sure what to expect in a small town, but the service was great. We customized a few orders, and everything came out EXACT! Needless to say, we left a great tip.

A visit to Ma Vic's is a step back in time about 50-years. The place is packed with locals, so you know the food is good. Serving typical diner fare of tenderloins, hamburgers, onion rings and the Ma Vic variation on a malted, it is great place to grab lunch after a visit to the Disney Museum. A seat by the window provides a nice spot to take-in Main Street USA.

Visitors driving into Brookfield can't miss Tastee Treat (once called Tastee Freez). They can choose either to eat at the picnic tables set outside, park their cars in the back parking lot, or go across the street to Tormey Park.
Sad to say, but it doesn't get nearly the business that franchise restaurants pick up--Tastee Treat still offers the same Tastee Freez favorites that people have enjoyed over the years, especially the soft-serve ice cream that comes in a variety of flavors. You can either pick the flavor of the day, chocolate, vanilla, or swirl...or you can have a specific flavor mixed up for you for just a few cents extra. My picks are the tenderloin sandwiches, cheeseburgers, sandwich baskets, shakes, and soft-serve ice cream. Two of the best flavors for ice cream or shakes are Orange Pineapple and Black Raspberry. It's also one of the few places in north Missouri where someone can still order a Maid-Rite sandwich--that is, loosely-crumbled ground beef scooped onto a bun that's sometimes served with cheese, mustard, or both.

The place is tiny, so you almost have to climb over each other to get in and out, but totally worth it.
The home made ice cream is smooth and delicious. (The "black rage" flavor was awesome.) Totally hit the spot and the self-serve toppings (pay by weight like a frozen yogurt place, except this is NOT low-fat frozen yogurt) was a nice twist.

The food was good. The prices are ok. Prices are slightly higher during the weekends. The place could use a little bit of tlc. Looks worn-out.

Each time I was here, the staff was friendly and the food was good. I've never heard of 'Mr. Goodcents Subs' before, but they did a great job on each of my visits!

We had been on the road for 12 hours, stopped in Brookfield, and decided to go to Pizza Hut. Hailey was such a wonderful server. She was friendly and attentive -- made sure we had everything we needed. It was refreshing to be around someone with such a positive energy after being on the road for so long. The food was good -- four pizzas and of course the cookie for dessert!

Most importantly, the food was good and the establishment seemed clean. Just a less than stellar experience for us. A seven p.m. visit was met with two employees. It seemed understaffed; there were nine people in the lobby to be waited on and that’s not including the drive through. When it was my turn in line a fly landed on my wrap while she was waiting on my bacon in the microwave. My husband asked her to shue it so she did, them it landed again. When my bacon was finished she rolled my wrap up and wrapped it in the paper without worrying about offering me a new once since a fly landed on it three times by the end of it all. I didn’t ask for another because I had one of my kids with me too and I don’t believe in pissing off food workers when they make your food. I just didn’t eat off that end. Besides the fly incident the female server, who appeared to be a supervisor possibly, was nice. The male, a teenage boy, on the other hand had a very smart mouth towards the other worker and a couple of the customers. Not the best experience but not the worst by far.

Competition sure would be nice to elevate the quality of food. Stopped while on business but there are only 3 other restaurants in town other than fast food (Chinese, Pizza and Mexican). Service was good but food mediocre. Ordered salmon but obviously a frozen piece. Good salmon has to be cooked just right so need some training there. Lots of other items I should have known better. A strange inside open air design like a converted store in a strip mall made into a restaurant with dividers.

...all because of POSITIVE and CHEERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
We were going back home to Indiana from a trip to Colorado. Our last night before returning home. Got a quick bite to eat at McDonald's in Brookfield, MO on a Wednesday evening. We walked in and immediately felt "at home". Friendly atmosphere, clean and well decorated. We placed our order with a very friendly young lady that appeared to be one of the managers. When we sat down to eat, my husband saw that his sandwich wasn't as he had ordered it. It wasn't really any "big deal" (just didn't want pickle) and didn't feel that he wanted to say anything so we began to eat. Shortly after we began to eat, the young lady that took our order came over to our table and APOLOGIZED to us for my husband not getting the sandwich the way he had ordered it. We weren't really sure how she knew about it because we didn't say anything. We told her it was ok...no problem, but she insisted on GIVING us dessert! Asked us what we would like... cookies? cream pie? We told her she didn't have to do that, but she brought us 3 chocolate chip cookies and a strawberry cream pie!!! We were so impressed by the entire experience that we wished we would have gotten her name to LET THE HOME OFFICE know what a jewel they have working for them!! Great place!!!
