Authenticity is the key for us at the Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus™, and we strive to bring you the best in traditional German and Austrian cuisine. Our menu includes various versions of schnitzel, roasts, sausages, potato pancakes, brats and of course, German Gemutlichkeit (German hospitality). No question, we only serve the best German beers and wines. The atmosphere at the Schnitzelhaus™ is like what Anna Maria Island is for Florida: Fun, laid back, simply “gemutlich”. Come hang out and enjoy yourself on one of the wooden tables or by enjoying a or two beers or wines at the bar. Schnitzelhaus™ is the “Wirtshaus” where you gather with your friends, your date or even your grandmother. All are welcome, and all are encouraged to stay a while. We, the owners of the Schnitzelhaus™, are proud of what the Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus™ Team started bringing to the Island some 15 years ago. We want to keep their heritage and take the German spirit on Anna Maria Island up to new generations. So all will know what German food and spirit stands for in today’s world and what it means to enjoy a fantastic Schnitzelhaus™ night.
Tasty, authentic German food and beer. However, service was ridiculous. Bread is served one slice at a time, as if rationed. Three different people, including the owner tried to take our bread plates and butter away from us. In class restaurants, you’re asked “would you like more bread.” This place pretends to be welcoming, but but the staff is intrusive and controlling. We will NOT go back.

Proudly serving Sarasota's own homemade/handmade Big Olaf Ice Cream! Island Cream has the biggest scoops on Anna Maria Island
This is not you average cool treats shop! Everything is done with perfection and visual appeal. The service was friendly, fast, and very informed. We ordered gelato. The portions were good and the taste superb; among the best we have encountered. Very clean. We will return.

We are a family owned and operated restaurant that specializes in French cuisine. We are from Toulouse in the South of France. Christophe is the chef and works only with local markets, and fresh products. He makes his special french bread everyday. We also have wonderful wines coming directly from France. Come to see us, our daughters and I will be glad to welcome you! Bon appétit!!
So we made the mistake of heading down to restaurants around 6 on Bradenton Beach during spring break. Went to three different places and the waits were '2 hours' (Beach House), 1:40 (Cantina) and 1 hour. Kids and wife were getting hungry and frustrated. About to go home, we run across this place that had seats available. WINNER! But despite this really being the 4th place finisher on places we were interested in, the dinner was a winner.
Kids were able to have food they wanted - pasta for one and a tasty chicken/mushroom dinner for the other - and the wife and I were able to have adult food. We loved the Duo de mer appetizer, the combination of the ingredients was tasty and different than we'd usually try. I had the grouper. I really liked the mango combination with the fish and the wife thought her poulet forestier was nice and moist.
An unexpected place served up a delicious meal that left everyone satisfied with there meal and was served in a relaxed but timely manner.

Making homemade ice cream since 1990. You will find the largest selection of flavors as will as the largest variety of items. Gluten free, sugar free, fat free, lactose free, homemade fudge, Jelly Bellys, chocolate bananas and cakes.
The sign outside advertising help wanted says it all. If there's a queue, it will be slow moving. Lots of options on the ice cream but overall little variety. After a disappointing walk around Bradenton Beach we felt we deserved an ice cream on the way back to the car parked down by the beach. So we sat on a bench and rested and ate our ice creams - with some difficulty as the spoons were almost useless, having not enough rigidity to scoop up the ice cream until it had melted. And there's the endless, slow moving traffic.......

We visit for ice cream about once a week. We also take home hand-packed quarts of their no-sugar-added black cherry. The BEST no-sugar ice cream I’ve ever had. (And I can’t find that anywhere else)
It’s a family owned place. Really kind, warm hearted service.
They have a repeat customer program to reward regular customers.
Huge selection of Unique flavors and four no-sugar-added flavors.

Tele: 914-896-9737. Best food on Anna Marie Island.
First, after reading all the reviews we had high hopes for our dinner. We just couldn’t catch a break with this one. We seated five persons at a little bitty table, even with reservations. Four of us had the seafood soup, it was devoid of flavor and the seafood was scarce. One person had the potato soup and loved it. This is the reason for a 3 vs 2 rating. The wait staff was initially attentive and then disappeared. The food was overpriced and thoroughly underwhelming. Getting a second cocktail was difficult. We left unsatisfied and feeling bewildered by the TA reviews of this restaurant.
We will not return.

Over the years since our first visit the restaurant has changed ownership and staff, but continues to offer consistently enjoyable French fare in an informal friendly atmosphere. Conveniently located near the pier, but small enough that it could be missed, this is a special treat due to the quality of the savory or the sweet crepes. The buckwheat variety are substantial and nourishing, especially when filled with eggs and meats or seafood. The sweet type will thrill all but the most sugar averse folks. The coffee is strong and tasty, with decaf available for those who cannot take the real deal. All kitchen and serving staff are friendly and helpful.

Right on the beach, this is a perfect place to enjoy the sunset. Unfortunately the food is disappointing, over rated and over priced, don’t believe the hype! We have eaten at the sister restaurants, Mar Vista and The Sandbar which are both far superior in...MoreI am sorry that your meal did not meet up to your expectations. Secured a nice table up on the outer deck for an early dinner. Was a wonderful day. Beautiful view. Had the lobster dogs (like corn dogs, but lobster!) , bang bang shrimp tacos, and lobster Mac-n-cheese. All dishes were excellent! Will definitely return and recommend!
