The items on the buffet were varied, which was nice. But most were canned (vegetables) or powdered (potatoes). The fresh items - fried chicken, meat loaf, fries, were excellent. I would prefer more homemade items instead of canned. And the décor could use some updating.

John & Stephanie (owners/operators) have high standards of quality. Their restaurant is clean and you always get what you ask for. They are reasonably priced and have spoiled me & my family from enjoying any other Dairy Queen around.

Nice place to grab a cup of coffee or a muffin and also offers other tea. Friendly staff. Connected to spa.

A colleague from work had recommended this cafe for lunch and we were not disappointed. My friend ordered the 1/2 lb cheeseburger with cheese fries and cottage cheese. I ordered the Chef salad and it was great. I also ordered the homemade vegetable soup and the broth was rich.
The cafe was busy and full; an indicator that the food is great and the cafe popular with the locals. The special on Tuesday was chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and green beans..

Good food, Great service! A lot of good quality food for your money. I love the small town atmosphere. The decor is very modern and hype for its location.

Folks if you are ever near Deslog or Bonne Terre , I recommend this place. The bldg. Looks questionable, but though the inside is aged, it is clean. My husband I both got the catfish platter. Best catfish I think I have ever had. We both had to ask for go boxes. This meal not only filled us for lunch, but supper as well.
Waitress and waiter were very friendly. Not bad wait, service was great. Looking around at the other customers plates, the steak looked cooked proper.

It was good food, but the management was outstanding. He came to our table to make sure everything was good. Friendly employees and very clean restaurant.

Worst customer service ever. The manager Dave said too bad when he was told the Alfredo wasn't good and made us pay 12$ for it even though it wasn't eaten. Will never return

We did not know this place existed, but it opened at the entrance to Terre Du Lac in 2012 as a much smaller establishment. When I heard about it, I just assumed it was a convenience store, but when we were driving in the area, we stopped in for lunch and were very happy we did. It is a very clean, small place with several rooms with tables, a bakery area, and a small deli. The staff are very friendly, and the choices for dinner specials are your favorite comfort foods with veggies just like the old diners we had as kids....my age is showing! They had catfish and two veggies, fried chicken (four pieces), shrimp dinner, meatloaf and sirloin steak sandwich, plus their regular menu on that day. Specials vary daily, so you can call ahead. We chose the chicken and meatloaf because if it isn't good, then we would not have added this place to tripadvisor. It took a while for the chicken, which you have to expect if it is to be served hot, and it was wonderful. It was moist on the inside, crunchy on the outside and seasoned very well as if it had been brined as it should be. My hubbie couldn't stop eating it. The mashed potatoes were real with the few tasty lumps that remind you of mom...the green beans were seasoned with bacon, bacon grease and onions. They were not too salty nor to greasy..perfect!!! My hubbie also loved the tiny beets that came with his meal. I can't wait to go back on Sunday for a real down home church meal...and then there is always the breakfasts they serve. Other folks have raved about the home made biscuits and gravy, but warned...you have to get there early before they run out. As a first rule of a good restaurant, they also had a very clean bathroom...we will be trying that Sunday dinner in a few days, and can't wait to take my 97 year old mom there. She misses the meats and threes....thanks for such a great experience...I have told all my friends!!
