We were visitors to California and had never seen a Vons store before, however we were more than impressed and visited other locations later in the trip. We were looking for chilled ingredients for a pasta dish to eat in our cabin and everything was great, including the wines to go with it!

Get there by 7am. Pancakes are the size of a medium pizza. Bring a sticker to put on the wall. So much food and so good.

We stopped into Big Bear Donuts on a snowy afternoon and warmed up with a hot cocoa and donut. Both were spot on, highly recommend!

We visited at about 1 p.m. on a Saturday. The line was all the way from the counter to the door. It took probably 20 minutes to get to the counter and place our order, and then another 20 or more minutes to get our food. Our lunches arrived without any utensils or napkins; we had to request them at the counter. The sandwiches are very tasty and unique, however, I'm not sure I would wait that long again.

We called in late morning and ordered coffees and breakfast croissants, initially we thought a bit pricy but when they arrived they were lovely, good size and fresh - we added sausage, bacon, eggs, avocado, tomato's - we didn't need to eat again until late evening. staff were friendly, cosy atmosphere.

Stopped for brunch at this very casual but delicious cafe. The lumberjack omelet was tasty and the logger potatoes were amazing. The service was a little slow but very courteous.

Restaurant was busy which is always a good sign. We received a friendly welcome and did not have to wait long for a table. Pleasant and efficient service plus delicious food which was nicely presented.
We shall be pleased to recommend the Peppercorn - and indeed the remarkable Big Bear resort when we return to England.

Stopped for lunch, had the place to myself. Huge sandwich (for big appetites). Was prepared rapidly and was fresh. Wish I could have had a beer. Would definitely stop in again

Looks lovely and the menu selections are varied and sound good. The outside seating was fun-looking but the heaters leave one cold. The greeting staff and wait staff are cheerful and enthusiastic. I had been referred there by the nearby Christmas ornament shop owner, and I though I was on my way to another restaurant, being cold, I stayed. I had a hard time choosing between 3 entrees, but chose the piccata chicken. I had been told by the friendly waitress that it came with mashed potatoes and I was looking forward to that, but it came with penne pasta instead which I had not chosen - if I had known of the penne (not a favorite) I would not have added the side of mac & cheese which was ho hum (would NOT order again). The garlic bread accents were good. The side of mixed vegetables consisted of two asparagus spears and one half a roasted small tomato. The chicken was too salty to eat topside so I cut off the bottom and fed it to my dog. Not a great experience for me but others looked like they were having a good time.

The Thali is the way to go here. These are wonderful combos with generous portions of numerous delicious dishes. We strongly recommend The Himalayan! Excellent service by an authentic staff. Reasonable prices for the quality and variety of food available.
