1st let me admit I have never eated at a restaurant in Benton Illinois before. So,I was a bit surprised after reading all of the TA 5 star ratings and then walking in the door to a rather modest atmosphere. It was lunch time and the menu was rather limited (Thursday seems to be hamburger day). Maybe 8 to 10 items to choose from on the lunch menu and one brand of each type of wine from the wine list. I had the Chicken club which was very good but impossible to eat with just 2 hands and less than 3 napkins. We each ordered the fruit as a side which consisted of 6 pieces of exceptionally fresh fruit for an additional $3@. Our waiter was Brandtlee which was very personable and provided excellent service. As I was still trying to interpret all of the 5 star ratings I asked to see the dinner menu which had some more upscale options. I also visited the upstairs dining room which was more formal and would be nice for parties or special occasions. I enjoyed the meal service and visit. If I lived in Benton I would return. If I had to make the drive from route 57 I am not so certain.

try the Ranger fries name after the Benton high school mascot. it is a box of fries covered in a hot meaty cheesy chili and a side of ranch and jalapenos. great value at $4.00 even. quick drive thru and recently renovated. nice kids working the counter.

Wanting to pull off the interstate for a bit and enjoy a nice cup of coffee in a quiet town we stopped at The Buzz Cafe. Greeted like a local or Long lost friend the ladies in the shop were very friendly and professional.
In the "square" of this great town there are no stop signs and no traffic lights. Pedestrian walkways control the foot and auto traffic gently and efficiently.
Do stop by if in the area.

We were looking for a good breakfast that was not too far off the Interstate and was more of a local type restaurant. It was a little hard to find even with cell phone mapping as the roads into town all met at a central square round about. The little town looked interesting, but no time to stop since we had a long drive ahead of us.
It was late breakfast so it was not busy. We had hoped to try out the country fried steak, they had turned off the fryers. The other choices were good and satisfied our need for a hearty breakfast.
The restaurant had just gotten new tables for the booths and they were too wide for most customers. Others were complaining nearby that it was hard to eat with a table in your chest. Unfortunately the owner will need to make some booth modifications.
Overall the food and prices were ok, but it won't become a must stop place on our next time thru the area.

We visited this place while camping in the area. After reading the reviews thought we would give it a try.
The place is small but did not seem to have a problem getting a seat. Our server was very good and she checked on us several times.
I had the Snow Crab, side salad and also the Pepper Jack Cheese Soup. The snow crab was good and was cooked properly. The soup was good but could have been hotter it was like warm at best. The salad could have been a little fresher it had brown lettuce in the mix. My wife had the white fish sandwich and she said it did not have much taste and wish she would have asked for tarter instead of the special Ketchup. It was not the best she has had.
The last comment I would make is that the place looked like it could use a bit of deep cleaning seemed a little unkept.
Overall we were glad we tried a locals place but probably would not go back if we are in the area again.

Waitress was very friendly and patient on our first visit here. Gave you way more food than expected, not complaining, as was a good lunch. Beans were fabulous; cheeseburger was a little scant ,but tasty, and french fries were average.
I would try it again, but not right away.

Enjoy great food and several options. I like their homemade onion rings! The steak sandwich and pork tenderloin are amazing! I always tip the carhops! Hungry? Order a Frosty Burger! Triple decker burger with all the fixin's! The best corn dogs around! Now I got myself craving a burrito with cheese and onions--yup, they have those too!

This was one of the hardest to get into... had to go through a gas station and around a fence to get to it, but the food was really good. Down-home style cooking. Pleasant waitstaff recognized us on our second trip, even though it had been a couple of days between visits. Remembered to bring ketchup for my husband without being asked. But we really went back for the food!

Back in the day, when I lived near Boston, I loved visiting Chinatown. When I was there, I always looked for the restaurants where the locals went (they had the narrowest doorways I'd ever seen)! Of course they had the best food, too, but their menus were entirely in Chinese! Lucky for us Americans, they had pictures of their food, and I was never disappointed.
The Full Moon House reminds me of those little restaurants. The food is excellent, and always freshly made. My recommendation is that if you're in Franklin County, don't go anywhere else. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

I absolutely love this place. Forget Whole Foods and check this place out! You may need to look up their menu on Facebook because they have different daily specials. The chipotle black bean burger and Never burger are excellent. Vegan food is not bland here, they pack so much flavor into every bite! You can have a strawberry banana smoothie while you're grocery shopping, buying supplements, natural toiletries, or essential oils. This store has become the best kept secret in southern Illinois, you have to stop by!
