We'd frequented The Back Porch years ago, but moved out of the area. What a treat to have gotten to return for a memorable Thanksgiving Day meal, with our parents - everything was wonderful, from the excellent and beautifully presented butternut squash bisque soup, and the salad of mixed greens with walnuts and a fresh and delicious dressing, to the sliced roasted Turkey with all the trimmings, all exceptional, and to the wonderful creme brûlée we all chose for dessert! The restaurant is in a lovely old restored building, which feels warm but elegant and welcoming, and the waitstaff are attentive and knowledgeable. Our family had a truly great time being there for such a delicious meal - we can't wait to return again!

My 1st time at George's! Looking at the posted reviews and my current dining experience, I must agree with the very good comments about this establishment.
Our party tried the gyro dip appetizer (the sauce is a winner), along with jumbo fried shrimp, pork chop, lamb kabob, and delicious soup of the day.
If you enjoy hard cider try their on tap Arsenal Cider.

Went to the Keystone Bakery in Monessen last evening. They were 1/2 hour away from closing. But the pastries that remained were tantalizing. The "Fat Tuesday" treats were few, but those that I bought, like the paczkis were delicious. First time I tried Keystone Bakery. Won't be the last.

Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and superb food. It was a wonderful way to spend some long awaited time with my sisters-in-law & our cousin. I highly recommend it for a girls day out! Reservations recommended for light tea or high tea because they have limited space.

Excellent place for baked goods & delicious pierogies and ravioli. Have tried others local so called "home made" but theirs are the best!

Eat'n Park is famous for the yummy Smiley Cookies as well as the delicious pies and baked goods. They also have a very nice salad bar with wonderful soups. You cannot go wrong with the salad bar as your choice. Breakfast is also very popular at this restaurant. They usually also have a special so that you can order from a choice of meals and the salad bar is included. This is the type of place that you would be happy to find as a traveler looking for a good meal after a busy day.

If your tired of buying your tasteless bake goods from supermarkets and big box stores, Valdiserri's bakery is a place for you. Great pastries and cakes for that special taste bud. Their butter icing on their cakes are superb. The best I've ever tasted and is the standard by with I measure all other cakes elsewhere. Looking for that special bakery look no further.

Went for dinner this evening with some friends. I ordered the cod with mushrooms and rice pilaf for my entree. The cod was cooked to perfection. It was moist and flaky and couldn't have been better prepared. The mushrooms however were not uniformly cooked. Some were very well done (crunchy) and other as they should be. The rice pilaf, for me, was too buttery. I have been recently avoiding a lot of carbs and butter so maybe this is why it seemed like a little too much for me. That being said this is one place that we frequent and will return to. On the service side that was prompt and efficient. The food was served in a very timely manner and the wait staff did a good job.

I purchased an early dinner take out order from Fourth Street Barbeque. The take out area was doing a brisk business, but the upstairs area, which is the dine in area, was not busy so early in the day. My order consisted of 1/2 pound of very good pulled pork, two slices of white bread, and a yummy Memphis BBQ sauce. The meal reminded me of the great BBQ I recently ate in Memphis. I look forward to having more meals at Fourth Street Barbeque.
