While traveling to Tulsa, OK, we stopped in Baxter Springs for lunch. On Fridays and Saturdays, Angels offers live music. We were greeted by the owner who introduced us to the special "Spaghetti Red". While we both opted for The Cowboy, every dish looked amazing! I especially like that each sandwich is the same price. I would highly recommend The Cowboy sandwich (roast beef and ham with smoked cheddar and BBQ sauce on rye)! They do NOT skimp on the meats! My husband also ordered a Chocolate Brownie Malt, which he enjoyed. The personality of the restaurant, the service, the live music, and the food all make Angels on the Route an absolute MUST STOP when in Baxter Springs!

We had a large group that stopped in without reservations or warning the restaurant that we were coming. Everyone got seated and served very quickly. The food was great and the prices and portions quite reasonable.

A college cafeteria compares with this offering. My wife and I went to the breakfast buffet on Father's Day, expecting to find a reasonably good offering. We were wrong. The food was very sub-par. The service was perfunctory. I was very disappointed.

This place is amazing. I have been here a few times and each time I enjoy the company and the experience. They owners are so sweet and nice. The menu is rather extensive for a smaller shop and everything is delicious. They have wonderful seating areas and even lots of jewelry and art work to look at and purchase. Stop by and enjoy!

Following old Route 66 through Kansas, I came across this restaurant at lunch time in Baxter Springs. The parking lot was crowded, which I believe is the best recommendation. Despite the nearly full lot, I was quickly seated, and immediately tended to. The wait staff were all friendly and attentive, and seemingly enjoyed small talk with customers. Although busy, they were in no rush to disengage with any customer.
Food is very good home style fare. Prices were reasonable. But again, it's the wait staff that puts this restaurant over the top. Needing directions, the staff actually asked a regular customer to assist me with directions. The friendliness of staff and patrons was exceptional.

Went for a celebration dinner. Didn't know about a sold out concert so we were seated about 9 p.m. That worried me because it was close to closing time for the restaurant and figured wait staff would be tired. Was completely wrong. Service was excellent and the food matched.

I went through the drive thru and ordered a small Mocha MooLatte. I had to wait forever because the teenager working the window knew the person in the car ahead of me and they were much too busy visiting to worry they were making others wait. When my MooLatte was finally delivered to me it was awful. There was ice cream and chocolate syrup all over the outside of the cup so I got my hand dirty when I took it from the worker. It was not made correctly so it tasted terrible and was not blended so it was more like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup poured on top. To top it off they left the whipped cream off! I told the worker it didn't look as if it was made correctly and she just shrugged, giggled and closed the window. Frustrated at the lack of service I went into the store and gave their awful concoction back to them and left. Worse yet, there were 2 managers behind the counter monitoring the staff! You would think a store specializing in ice cream would be able to get their ice cream specialty items correct! I, myself, own a franchise (Not a Dairy Queen) and if my staff EVER gave this type of service I would politely show them the door as business survives on happy customers and I am definitely not a happy customer.

Highly recommend eating here as the food is simple, tasty and plentiful. The pulled pork, hoagie and curly fries were spot on, washed down with endless cola and all for six bucks. The owner is a woman of principles too so don't expect to pay with Amex. They wronged her years ago and she has never forgotten.

Food was good and reasonably priced. Nice assortment of drinks. Unfortunately you can smell smoke from the casino in most of the bar, but there is a little area that wasn’t unbearable. Nice selection on the menu. Servers and staff were okay. Prefer they move this to the non smoking side of the hotel.
