Known as "Cereal City," Battle Creek, Michigan is home to both the Kellogg and Post corporations. These two companies have left their mark on the city, building both office buildings and local attractions. The Leila Arboretum, part of Battle Creek's 7,000 acres of parkland, was created by the widow of CW Post, founder of Post Cereals. Post himself had been inspired to go into the cereal business after a visit to the now-historic Battle Creek Sanitarium, which was then run by John Kellogg.

Revisited this special restaurant in Battle Creek for our 9/11 Anniversary, on 9/12, and really enjoyed everything!
We had a very pleasant and attentive server, and other staff was top notch as well.
For entrees, my wife had the Penne Alla Pollo (very good) and I had the Tortellini Carbonara (super rich & delicious). She agreed that mine was her favorite this night.
Tried their Caesar salad (sorry, I ate it before thinking of taking a photo), and it was the best I've tasted; not at all your standard C. Salad; yum!!
Shared a delicious slice of Carrot Cake with my lovely wife, for a great finish(!).
Too often when we go out, there'll be some aspect that didn't quite 'click', but at this place on this evening, all was well!
If you haven't tried Malia, I highly recommend it to you.
You'll be in for an exceptional dining experience!

Sweetwater's Donut Mill is a donut shop in southwest Michigan that has been serving homemade donuts and coffee for over 30 years. Sweetwater's has been owned by the Garner family since 1983 and is still serving the same donuts with the same quality and great service that have been around since the stores first opened their doors.
Sweetwaters Donut Shop is the absolute best place .Every trip from Maine to Battle Creek is the same...check in at The Best Western Motel then a short walk for an abundance of choices at Sweetwaters. You wont be disappointed.. Yummy..

Looking for a place to stop for a quick bite we found this on the internet. It's about 7-8 minutes off of I-94. Is it cute little place to sit down have a quick bite. They serve gourmet hot dogs with a twist. They also sell ice cream and other products. They have a small amount of locally grown food that they also sell in the store/ restaurant. Staff was nice and friendly prices were good

We love going here for lunch in Battle Creek. I get a Reuben or the Turkey Florentine. My husband gets a roast beef, if the grandkids are with a sometimes when their not we treat everyone to cookies and/or ice cream. Every thing is fresh and well prepared. Staff is friendly. They close relatively early so lunch or early dinner is recommended!
Also favorite place to by holiday breads and event cakes!

Lux Cafe was on our route to Traverse City and happy to find it. The restaurant is clean and bright, service excellent and food very good. The portions are huge so plenty to share.
I had the Eggs Benedict with hash browns that were crispy on the outside and tender inside.
There were four small eggs, large slices of Canadian bacon on the muffin and generous amount of Hollandaise. I wish there had been an option to have half
My husband enjoyed his pancakes, eggs, bacon and toast - also huge!
The coffee hot (but a little weak for our taste) and our waitress kept our cups full but did ask first rather than just refilling the cup I had prepared with cream & sugar - a sure sign of a good waitress!
Thanks all for making our day and hope our paths will cross again someday.

Arriving just 25 minutes before closing time and seeing no cars in the parking lot I thought we might get a cool reception but NO! We were greeting warming and offered excellent, friendly service. The menu is interesting with nice wine offerings. I ordered a New York Strip steak which arrived perfectly prepared and was delicious. Spouse ordered a Black and Blue burger which must have been really good because he ate the whole thing when he typically stops at half. We hope to return soon.

Great selection and presentation. Lots of dishes to choose from with a wide assortment of varieties (Italian, Chinese, etc.). Very good dessert selection. Soft drink is included in the price and the service was very good.
