Huey’s has been serving up Blues, Brews and Burgers since 1970. You’ll find a casual setting and laid back feeling in this legendary tavern where the entertainment includes blowing toothpicks into the ceiling with your drink straw and writing on the walls with sharpies. You’ll want to try one of our mouthwatering burgers…voted “Best Burger” by Memphis Magazine every year since 1984. Huey’s has also been voted “Best Pub Grub”, “Best Beer Selection”, “Best Late Night Dining”, “Best Kid Friendly”, “Best Lunch”, “Best Service”, and many more in Memphis Magazine’s Readers Restaurant Poll. But don’t miss all the other great grub, including potato soup, homemade onion rings, steak or chicken philly cheese sandwiches, great salads and homemade lemon ice box pie.Sundays at Huey’s are renowned for its live music – jazz in the afternoon, blues and rock at night – spotlighting local and regional groups.
Hey, I go here at least a couple of times a week. It's safe because it right across the street from the police department. And they ofter eat inside.
That being said, the beer and drinks and wine are certainly cheap during happy hour, which is Monday thru Friday from about 4 until 10. The crowds are usually there during happy hour. It is an L shaped bar and seats may 16 people. The bartenders are friendly and they will get to know your name. About 8 drafts.
They have live entertainment on Sunday evenings and Wednesday afternoon, except when it's really cold. I think the entertainment can be overwhelming because they are set up really close to the bar.
Heuys is known for its burger. Usually first place in the local best contests. The onion rings and fries are good. I think the rest is pub grub. Take it or leave it.
But is a fun place, a safe place. And everyone knows your name.

Firebirds is a collection of polished casual restaurants offering a refined atmosphere, top-notch service and upscale dining at a modest price. We are known for our authentic, wood-fired entrees infused with bold flavors, fresh herbs & spices. Our restaurants feature a selection of aged steaks hand-cut in the restaurant, fresh seafood, chicken & ribs seared over local hickory, oak or pecan wood.
We three sisters ate lunch here, trying the chicken tortilla soup, salmon, and cheeseburger. Great place to be able to enjoy lunch and conversation.
Soup could have been hotter and was reasonably flavorful. Cheeseburger and onion rings were better than many restaurants. Salmon deemed to be perfect.

When this business first opened, locals were flabbergasted at the size of the glazed donuts. They are big, but all around they are not as mouth melting good as their smaller brothers sold elsewhere. A bit doughy but satisfying. The variety is good, although the fritters are a bit smaller than the competition. The sausage biscuits are good, but mine was a little dry. Overall, it is a convenient shop.

We had visited another Corky's (on Poplar) and loved it this place was closer to our hotel so we came here expecting the same restaurant. The building is very nice. Upon entering we stood for some time watching workers move about without being greeted. Finally the fellow behind the bar asked if we had been helped and he seated us. The waitress was nice enough. We placed our order which came quickly. We expected the same quality of food as the other Corky's but that wasn't the case. Needless to say I was disappointed. Maybe it was just an off day....

Home of the Hand Grind hamBurger pattie Welcome to the Burger and Sammie Joint where we make the best burger and Sammie's you’ve ever had. We start with only the freshest ingredients and prepare it to order just the way you like.
Mojo café is really good. I had the burger with bacon and cooked onions. I would have given a 5 star but I think the price is $2 to much. They do grind their own meat and it is serve fresh everyday. Bacon is really good for the those who love bacon it is a must try. I wish I could have bought and tried everything but $9 for just a burger was a little out there. $3 more I could have fries and a drink. Not that I didn't have the money I never paid that much for a combo in my life and its hard to break old habits. I will be back but it wont be any time soon

We went to the store in Arlington, TN, not the Bartlett location.
We got a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. The pork had little flavor and no smoke I could taste.
We also got a rack of ribs, half dry and half wet with the vinegar sauce. The sauce is OK but the ribs are heavy with chili powder and no smoke I can taste. They are fall of the bone which I suspect is from having been boiled and finished in the oven.
The Fried Okra was very good partly because we had to wait for them to fry it so it was fresh.
The tea was straight out of a good old gallon milk jug, how can you go wrong?

On entering you notice that the decor indicates that this asian buffet is not your normal eatery. The food is fresh, tasty, and the selections are numerous. There are excellent selections of tempura items that are worth a trip to this restaurant on their own. A large selection of sushi is available. Fresh and unique salad items are there for your choosing. The pricing is just a few dollars higher than a typical asian buffet but it is well worth it do to the quality and variety of the selection offered. The staff is friendly and attentive. I will be making a repeat visit to this establishment.

Driving by Las Palmitas in Bartlett Tennessee, you would not imagine the creative food that awaits inside reconverted fast food building.
Fortunately for us, it has been recommended so we stopped.
The Guacamole Appetizer was fresh, balanced and set the taste buds going.
Tha Shrimp Fajitas had smaller size shrimp but they were plentiful and flavorful. Again the fresh taste of the vegetables and salad I asked be substituted for the rice and beans made the dish very enjoyable.
The Chicken in the tacos was also well seasoned, moist and abundant.
For us, the real test for a Mexican restaurant is the local salsa and Las Palmitas has a winner. Fresh, balanced heat and adds flavor to wherever it is used.

Been a year since I wrote about this really satisfying eatery. If you are like my family, we sometimes just want home style cooking. Sweet Pea's is our place to go and they have never disappointed us. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous.
I had the chicken livers with gravy and onions, hushpuppies, mashed potatoes and gravy and lima beans. My wife and granddaughter both had veggie plates with four vegetables each.
Very satisfying, great and courteous service, comfortable seating. Sufficient and convenient parking. Very family oriented and lots of satisfied customers.
I recommend anyone with an appetite for country style cooking to try Sweet Pea's.
