A small group of about eight people met for lunch in the separate back room. The servers were very accommodating and saw to our every need, including separate checks with gratuity added.
The food was delicious. We ordered many different dishes, some from the luncheon specials and some from the regular menu.

This is one of the most popular places in town, consistently getting great reviews from all sorts of sources. I've had many good meals there, too. That's why I was so surprised by today's visit. I walked in seated myself (as is the custom), and waited for service. And waited. And waited. The cashier didn't seem to be doing anything, but apparently is forbidden to step away from the register to give a menu and a cup of coffee. Fully ten minutes after I sat down, a waitress came by and asked what I wanted to drink. She also brought a menu and flatware.
The food was so-so, nothing special. No one ever asked if I would like more coffee, and the waitress disappeared after delivering my food.
A very disappointing visit.

We went to Uricchios from Trip Advisor reveiws and were all very impressed and happy we choose this restaurant. There were 6 of us and we all ordered something different and were all very happy and satisfied. Great menu, food was delicious, food came out hot and stayed hot!!! Owner walked around greeting the guests which is something you don't see very often.
Would definitely go back and a must try!

I had never been to a Basque restaurant before and my cousin insisted we eat here. And it was great! Great full bar, excellent bar tender, family style presentation or individual entrees, your choice, fried chicken, tongue, beef, lamb or veal, soup, salad and it was all excellent. And great service too. I will be back one day.

Had a combo plate with some basics for a first time visit. Cheese enchilada, Chile relleno, and a tamale, which I took I home. Had steamed veggies in place of rice. These were just basic broccoli/carrots frozen mix. Bland, but fine. However, everything else was great! Loved the flavor and texture of the beans - very authentic. The relleno was flavorful and had lots of cheese. Enchilada was yummy as well. Plan to go back to try the Mole.

This is a local restaurant and with the Holidays upon us plus the fact it isn’t open for dinner, plan on a wait.
They also serve up a free appetizer per person.
We ordered 1/2 plates of pasta. The truffles scarchetti and the wild mushroom ravioli
Very light and delicious

Serving the best Prime Rib, Steaks and Seafood in town. Full Bar with a great wine list. Happy Hour Mon-Fri 2pm-6pm. Outdoor patio seating and Banquet room seating up to 80 people.
It had been about 14 months since we had been in Bakersfield and ate at Hungry Hunter so decided to try it again when in town a couple of weeks ago. Again the place was busy so we sat at the bar since we could be seated right away. As on our first visit the service was top notch and the good was very good. I was sad to see that the lamb chops were not available the night they were there. I fell in love with them on our first visit.

The food was really good but it took a long time for the waitress to help us and even longer to get our drinks. Our appetizer was good but our entrées came out when we are only halfway done with it. I hope the service gets better. Have fun

You will not be disappointed with Hodel's Country Dining. They are at least a three generation restaurant with true home cooking. The variety of salads, entrees, deserts, breads, soups, etc. is outstanding. Besides the items on the steam table, they have fresh carved meats. Their cinnamon rolls and fried chicken are two of their signature items. The price can't be beat for the quality and quantity of items.

My wife and I had Saturday morning breakfast. She had the signature dish of fried chicken breast on a waffle and was very impressed with the delicious waffle and perfectly cooked chicken. I had the fried catfish and eggs with potatoes and biscuits and sausage gravy. The food was authentic and true to it's Southern cooking claim! Everything was amazing and delicious. I would return just for the biscuits and gravy! The portions were plentiful and we both cleaned our plates. The iced tea was very good. Highly recommend this establishment for delicious Southern food!
