I have had ice cream at the Yum Yum tree for over 30 years. When I was a kid the ice cream was excellent. I haven't been there in a couple years but just recently stopped in. The store was as cute as I remembered with the bathtub full of salt water taffy.
I had a scoop of butter pecan ice cream which was ok, just not rich and creamy like I remembered. I probably wouldn't go back for ice cream as there are other places in Fish Creek and Ephraim that serve better quality ice cream.

The sleepy side of the Door comes alive with Chives. Wonderful food in a real nice setting with helpful servers. We started with the fried cheese curds appetizer and could have probably quit there. Delicious. I had the Salmon, which was huge and delicious and my wife had the Beef Cheeks and Spaetzle. Yes, I said cheeks...Like slowly braised short ribs, unbelievably good.

I like to start my mornings with a Cortado, only problem in Sturgeon Bay was finding one. I drove up to Baileys Harbor and found a small coffee shop with legit coffee snob quality beverages. During the winter I am sure seating is scarce however in August, it was a trip worth the drive to have a Cortado correctly prepared and the surrounding scenes. The harbor offer scenic views with a few small parks within walking distance of the shop as well as a brewery next door if you like uppers and downers together. Easy drive while making trips to Cave Point County Park or WhiteFish Dunes State Park, added maybe 15-20 minutes to the drive overall and definitely worth it.

Seasonal shop serving fresh frozen custard, freshly baked muffins/scones/sweet rolls/cookies, made to order sub sandwiches and special coffees featuring Door County Coffee. Open basically Memorial Day to Labor Day.
We have driven by this place, but did not ever stop due to the steep driveway. We had a beautiful day and a parking place on the street, so we decided to walk down the hill to see what this place had to offer. We...MoreThank you for the lovely review! We hope to see you again soon!

Wonderfully prepared hash with potatoes, eggs and a biscuit this morning! All the choices (breakfast or lunch) are awesome. Try bbq ribs or pulled pork sandwich for lunch for truly great flavor. Always an enjoyable spot with Boyd's mastery in the kitchen and Candace's laughter in the front!!!

Had a very nice dinner on the patio with our dogs. The doggie menu is a nice touch and the dogs enjoyed their meal. Had the perch special and it was very good. My wife had the walleye and it too was very good. Waiter and busboy were friendly and efficient. A very nice dining experience but a little pricey. More than you'd pay for a similar meal at other places in Door County.

We stopped for dinner and had a great time. This is a basic family owned restaurant, with good food, nice kids menu and a good beer list.
Our server was very attentive, great with suggestions for the kids and very friendly.
It was also nice to see locally raised items on the menu form Waseda Farms, which is right down the street.

We stopped in before 5:00 on a Friday night because we heard this place gets busy. We had to wait about 15 minutes before we could be seated which allowed us time to get a drink at the bar & chat with the locals.
Our group tried the pan fried perch, haddock, and Door County trio fish platter. The perch was plentiful & very good, haddock was good, and the DC fish trio was ok. We all ordered the garlic buttered baby reds & wished they had more garlic as they tasted a bit bland.
Service was good. Food choices in a variety of price ranges are available. We would eat here again.

There are very few seats inside where the train delivers food, so if you go for that, you will have to wait quite a while.
HOWEVER, we did not expect all the outdoor activities and our kids had a blast. Several playground structures. We spent 30-45 minutes easily just with the pedal cars.
The food was ok, and not overpriced like so many other places in Door County.

Tourist walking in the middle of Badger game, place was packed... you know the local bar where everyone turns around to see who walks in, and sees it's you and turns around again? yeah. That worried me as we tiptoed to a corner table. One bartender for the bar and the whole place, strike two. He was working his tail off hustling drinks and food. Took about 5 mins for him to get to us but menus were at the table so we were ready. About a dozen beer choices ranging from Miller to quality local craft (went with an O'so). Ordered chili fries and The Missy Burger "~ 1/3# fresh ground beef, pepper jack cheese, tequila infused sweet peppers and onions, sautéed shrimp, with home-made Cajun ranch and a shot of house tequila on the side. Served on a grilled Kaiser roll". Beer came out a couple mins later, fries and burger came out quite fast. Most of the staff must have been in the kitchen cranking away. People: This burger was OUTSTANDING. the sauce, the meat, the topping... the bun held together and sopped up the sauce at the same time. it was so good. i was texting all my friends they need to stop here if in the Peninsula. The Chili fries were really good, had some great flavor and heat, but not obnoxious hot. If you are up in Door Co., it's a must stop.
