My wife and I visited Catalina for anniversary in February 2018. We went hiking out to Lone Tree point during the day, and came back with a rather large appetite. We decided to have dinner at the steakhouse, since we burned so many calories during the day. The steak was very good, the service was very good, and there was a great view of Avalon and the harbor. It was an offseason weekend, and things were a little quieter than during the spring or summer, and the service was good.

Open at 5 am daily, we offer the best gourmet coffee and tea selection in Avalon! Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino,Ice Blended Drinks, Smoothies, Pastries, Homemade Cookies and more! Avalon's only Fresh Fruit Fro-Yo Bar and Hot Breakfast served daily. Our closing hours vary daily between 8pm and 11pm seasonally.
The pastries looked to die for- we got there towards the end of the day, and everything looked absolutely fresh and ready to be eaten. Unfortunately, we had a big lunch and only stopped by for a quick caffeine trip.
The shop is in the middle of a plaza- a few tourist stores, an arcade, a bar, a spa, and inward from Coney West. I had a pre-made iced tea sweetened with their honey. They have a huge assortment of coffee you can pick and choose and play with.
The best part is, for a small fee ($1-$1.75) you can get refills on your tea and coffee all day long. Definitely not a bad deal, for some yummy freshly made caffeine.

This is an old-fashioned sweet shop located in a prominent spot on Avalon’s bayfront pedestrian street. There’s a taffy-puller operating in the window most of the time, and they also have a selection of fudge, pastries, as well as other candy. We enjoyed ice cream cones here, and their scoops aren’t too skimpy. While this is to be expected, their image may be old-fashioned, their prices are pretty modern, but still a fun stop. Just based on a short December visit, this store seemed to be open when many others in the area were not.

Our family wanted to grab a nice lunch in Avalon. Bluewater is perfect for families, for the view, for location and especially for the fresh seafood! We had the wonderful SandDabs . Yummy!
Seasonal fresh fish is delicately prepared and paired with fresh veggies.
The kids loved bed their cheeseburgers and have me made potato chips. Extensive menu for adults. Good bar offering. Very accommodating service.
Highly recommend this restaurant in Avalon!!

They offer paninis and non-toasted custom sandwiches you can...MoreDear Dmarkwind, Thank you for joining us at Ben's Bakery. There is a bathroom located in the Arcade. This was a great place for a treat! I had gelato and my boyfriend had ice cream. Both were very good. The man scooping was very busy but he was friendly with a great attitude. We find the prices in Catalina to be pretty high, but the prices here were very reasonable!

Avalon's waterfront dining, located at the foot of the Green Pleasure Pier, is open seven days a week for lunch (Fri-Sun) and dinner with a lively, central bar and open air dining. The Avalon Grille features American regional dishes with a seasonal approach, paired with a world class selection of wines, micro-brew beers and cocktails in a casual and fun "al fresco" atmosphere overlooking Avalon Bay. The Avalon Grille boasts a fabulous menu including Miso Cured Bass, Lavender Roast Chicken and our famous Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
My Husband and I went for Wine Wednesday at the Bar. Charles was our excellent bartender. Charles was attentive, knowledgeable and very nice! I wanted to try some of the Rusack Wines that were produced on the Island but because of the limited production the prices were too high for us. We love the Rusack Winery as our favorite in Solvang area...This place is the classiest on the Island...we will return for the food and hopefully Charles again!

Surrounded by the rugged beauty of Descanso Canyon and the clear blue Pacific Ocean, Descanso Beach Club features Avalon's only beachside restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy appetizers, entrées and signature cocktails, like our famous Buffalo Milk. For the ultimate beach club experience, you can have your food and drinks delivered to your own private cabana or chaise lounge. Descanso Beach Club also serves as the Base Camp for the Zip Line Eco Tour, Catalina Falconry Experience, and a 32' Climbing Wall. Kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and snorkeling are also available. Seasonally, Descanso Beach Club's party scene is well known among locals and visitors alike, DJ tunes and live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
I went for a sunday lunch. the location, the music and the people who wants to have fun create the perfect atmosphere. I think it is a must to get a feeling of the Old Island movida.

Dryer's ice-cream on the boardwalk. Busy, local shop. Nothing out of the ordinary. Service was good. However, if you're looking for more of a specialty ice-cream, this may not be your place.

Stopped in for a couple of beers - delicious! The pretzel rolls alone (complimentary!) were enough to get me back there. A little pricey, but that's the trend on Catalina. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly.
Cute little place to sit outside and people watch!
