I've been to Jakes for the second time, my husband absolutely loves this place. I have an everything bagel dog and it's amazing. The people that work there are so friendly.

We had eaten at this restaurant many times in the past with our aging parents but that was several years ago. We recently dined here as we were visiting the area. The atmosphere was unchanged....very comfortable and inviting. The food was just as we remembered....always reliably tasty! Servers were efficient and pleasant. Was good to visit Harner's again!

Home to America's favorite Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, burgers, salads, and chocolate cake.
You have to watch this operation closely, there are over 30 people filling orders, organized chaos, BUT IT WORKS. Staff is friendly, helpful and courteous, prices are fair and food is served hot and good. They serve an astonishing number of guests every day. I do believe they have changed the flavor of the juice used on the Italian beef, it appears to be less "Italiany" but it's still one of the best beef sandwiches anywhere.

This is an old-school Greek restaurant that made me miss Chicago's historic Como Inn. The service was perfect; there was a decent beer and wine selection; it was fun to watch flaming Saganaki go to other tables; and our own food was delicious. I don't think I've ever had better grilled calamari. My husband ordered the lamb and I ordered salmon. Both were excellent, but if you're a lamb fan, get the roast lamb! Wow! Portions were good and prices fair.

My family went here looking for some good BBQ. We ordered two pull pork sandwiches and the pull pork sliders for the kid. I ordered my sandwhich Northern style which came with dry slaw and sauce.
The kids meals were $5 And came with 1 small slider and some fries. The pull pork sandwiches were $7 and the sides ranged from $2-3, with a cornbread muffin for $1.
For our sides we got fried potato salad and may and cheese.
The sandwiches were dry. There was a hint of smoke, but certainly lacked flavor. We had to add sauce just to add something for taste and add some moisture so we could swallow. The coleslaw was dry, not my liking, but that is more of a preference.
The fried potato salad was decent. It was fried potato chunks with a hot sauce with flavor comparable to BWW's medium wing sauce. The Mac and cheese was said to have a smoke flavor, which it did, but was not to our liking.
The cornbread was pretty good. They offered a few different sauces. We tried the Sweet St Louis and the Sweet hot. They were ok. The Sweet St Louis had a bit of a ketchup taste more than a Bbq sauce.
The cost for 2 adults and 1 child with water for drinks was $28 without tip.
We sat out on the patio which was a nice little place with a view of the river. A fire pit with a nice fire would be a great addition.
Service was ok, waitress did not even though we were there for several minutes becuase she was busy talking with friends in the parking lot. But was still friendly and attentive once she realized we were there.
I wanted this to be so much better, but sadly it wasn't. If your in the mood for BBQ, I would recommend Smokes in Yorkville over this place.

The Turf Room offers an American Eclectic menu that changes with each season. Whether in one of our three dining rooms, lounge, wine bar, or track room, you are assured of a great experience. So relax and enjoy the upbeat atmosphere, friendly service, and most of all the unique Gastronomy!
While I do not often award any place 5 stars, not that I don’t really like a place but sometimes after repeat visits things come out very good but not excellent. With The Turf Room and after numerous visits we have never been less than thrilled with the menu, the service and the outstanding food! Whether fish, pasta, steak, pork it is ALL great. Make no mistake this is a special occasion restaurant, so expect to spend some cash. Try it and you’ll be back. Wine selection is very good, very good cocktail menu—it hits at all cylinders. If there is one thing we don’t truly love, it’s the heat and the fireplace. We try to sit back in rooms away from the fireplace, very warm.

One of two established Naf Naf Grill locations. A third is pending (see URL).
Typically I visit one of the NafNafs in downtown Chicago but was in the Fox Valley area and decided to stop for dinner. Yum...so much better than the assembly line ones in Chicago. Pita falafel was flavorful as was the side Jerusalem salad that is not available in Chicago. Outdoor seating a plus.

This is a small restaurant, open for breakfast and lunch. I know it’s a local favorite, but I just don’t get it. The best part is the owner, who is always waiting tables and making customers feel at home. The food is ok, but not as good as many other restaurants of its kind. It isn’t as clean as I prefer. I was afraid to use the ketchup bottle. The prices are good, and portions are large.
