A cozy, friendly, happy place to go and eat. Jean makes your visit so enjoyable!
I brought a friend here today because she had never heard of Granny's. Granny's is famous in Atwater and Merced. When traveling to Yosemite, a stop at Granny's before 2 p.m. is a must. Or, when heading north on 99 it's still a must. Before 2p.m.
Did I say I love this place!!

Tary Boscolo's had switched to being a Pizza take-out only for several months. I was glad to notice they are back in business as a regular Italian restaurant with not just pizza on the menu, but also offering a variety of pasta dishes and a variety of pasta sauces, as well as chicken, sandwiches, and appetizers.
We visited Friday night, and the place was hopping, just like it used to be. There were enough waitresses to serve customers. Having dined here for over 30 years, I found the food isn't quite back to the high quality it used to be. It was overly greasy and salty. (Chicken Parmesan). I hope it was just a fluke, growing pains. The garlic bread for some reason had melted cheese on top. Not sure if that's the way it's going to be or if I didn't read the new menu right.
Be that as it may, we will continue to patronize Tary Boscolo's. Even slightly diminished in quality they are better than other restaurants in Atwater. Glad it's back!

One of the oldest restaurants still open in Atwater, CA. They have been open for nearly 30 years. Family owned and operated
Brooks has a very good breakfast menu with variety and good value. Breakfast is the best meal, lunch is average however I do not recommend dinner as the boss is not usually there in the evenings resulting in the quality of food and service below par.

I usually come quite often, they know my order my name I always feel welcomed. The owners are the sweetest. I never hesitate where to get a good sub, I know where I'll go and it's this place. I love how they are not stingy on their meat it's just so good. I lovee it and if you have a big appetite get the "destroyer" packed with meat. Their food is fresh always I never had a problem with this place. It's a must here definitely towns favourite they cater too. I always recommend this place to people who are hungry and new to this town.

Went here on a business luncheon and was not impressed by the food. It tasted like borderline average Mexican food you can find at numerous restaurants.
The service was okay, but we had a few issues. I specifically stated no sour cream on anything and bit into a huge lump hidden in the middle of my taco...almost lost it right then and there.
The most interesting part, which I still don't understand, is my coworker asked the waitress (who was Hispanic and spoke fluent Spanish) for some Queso, and she didn't know what he wanted...He repeated himself numerous times and she finally brought him some Velveeta looking sauce.
I would recommend visiting one of the many other Mexican restaurants around.

This is the go to for us for breakfast. the staff is friendly and the food is great. Several of us meet for breakfast regularly because of the old fashioned ambience of the diner. I especially love their coffee. It is bold and strong but not bitter.
