Home cooked food, open Friday, Saturday, Sunday 913-367-4357
This place is a little hidden gem. The food was good and the service was great. We did the family style and for the price you get a ton of food. Starts off with a salad and soup. Then the main meal comes out with three meats; chicken, fish and ribs to include sides and bread. Then to top it off you get a dessert for the group. I took my family of five and we left completely stuffed for under 50 dollars. Oh and certain drinks are included, great bonus. This was a great family outing. Be careful though because they have limited hours so make sure they are open before going. The are also located down a dirt road and it looks as if you are going into someone's house. Don't worry though there is enough parking and plenty to eat.

Been here many times over the years, and I've noticed some very good changes. The espresso shots are pulled better, giving their drinks much better flavor. The addition of the Den next door was very nice since Snowball can get crowded at times.
In the end, though, my family and I go to Snowball for its ice cream (and fantastic frozen hot chocolate) and the occasional sandwich. Service can be slow at times, and sometimes even glacial, but this is still the place to go for a yummy frozen treat in Atchison.

We stopped in here to eat before the eclipse. With all the people in the area, there was a wait for a table, but there was a spot open at the bar. We got a couple beers and our food there. Our bartenders were very nice and helpful in picking out what was on special/popular. The fried pickles were delicious. We both got some version of a tenderloin sandwich, which was huge and very yummy. We both had left overs to take home from this meal. My boyfriends only negative comment was that the steamed veggies were obviously from a frozen bag, but that he understood why. Other than that it was a great experience!

Visited store 30 minutes prior to closing on Saturday evening; Ordered a grasshopper blizzard..."Sorry, we are out of vanilla ice cream." Then followed for a brownie cookie dough. "Uhhh, we are out of cookie dough." How does a Dairy Queen not have ice cream on a Saturday night? No wonder the car ahead of us pulled away without receiving anything and neither did we....! I bet the machines were clean and all lights were out at the stroke of closing.

Pete's offers a wide variety of homemade soups, salads, and pastas as well as our signature hand cut USDA Choice steaks. We also offer a kids menu, an all-you-can-eat buffet (Friday and Sunday), and make some of the best pizza in Northeast Kansas which is made with only the freshest ingredients. To top it off it's all at a price that can fit any budget. So come in and see us today, you'll be glad you did.
Came to Pete's with a group. We were promptly seated and our orders taken. For the size of our group food arrived in a reasonable time. I had Mama Lina penne pasta. Good flavor, generous portion. Salad was nicely presented. Waitress was very attentive.

We stopped in for dinner here during an overnight in Atchison. This definitely felt like the place the locals eat! It was humming with customers, but the skilled wait staff moved everyone through with friendly efficiency. It's counter service, simple and basic. The food was delicious! Really well done classic BBQ. Good selection of beers. We would visit again for sure!

We eat here often. I've never ordered anything here I didn't like! My favorite is the jalapeño margarita! Every now and then there is a little wait to get seated, but it's worth it. Service is usually pretty good. They have daily specials if your eating on a budget like wed. Is 4 tacos for under 5 bucks! Can't beat that!

Atchison is one of the most famous towns of its size in Kansas ("The Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe"), and offers more interesting elements than many other burgs. Maria's, in a fairly nondescript building downtown offers some interesting and delicious food. Just a note--the hallway leading to the restroom features several historic photos of Atchison that are well worth seeking out. Maria's makes their own chips and salsa and both are quite good. They have the usual Mexican restaurant's wide variety of entrees, and all look good. We opted for the huevos con chorizo and were not disappointed. Friendly, helpful servers.

Real good bbq, a clean place, good friendly staff. Good priced daily lunch specials. BBQ pulled pork nachos, salads are great! Good place for a working lunch meeting. I visit weekly when working in the Atchinson area.

Went in for lunch with a few friends. Took a while to be seated. Then we waited again...and waited... and waited... 15 minutes later and we still hadn't been served. Hate to repeat a small-town cliche, but it seems like if they don't know ya, ya ain't gettin' served. Sad.
