Now the standing "great plan" for a summer outing is picking up a couple sandwiches from Ashland Baking Company for the cooler as well as some baked treats and picnic after a hike. I had a "bacon jam" sandwich that couldn't have been more delightful, and my wife had a chicken wrap that was tasty, too. You know the bread is going to be top notch. I consider both sandwiches "creations." Somebody there knows what what tastes good and can make it happen.
Price-wise, you pay a bit more for quality and it is noticeably worth it.
This is a must stop for foodies when in Ashland. I know of no better bakery anywhere.

After looking at the reviews of Deep Water on TripAdvisor we decided to have dinner there. It was a great choice. The special of the evening was a tenderloin with shrimp, roasted red potatoes and asparagus. The steak was done to perfection, the shrimp was perfectly done and the asparagus was crisp tender. The broiled Walleye sandwich with caper dill mayo and spinach on a ciabatta roll was delicious. I tried the apricot wheat beer and loved it.
Service was good and the manager interacted with the guests.

The atmosphere is really nice. The service is friendly and very good at what they do. The location is very convenient and they have outdoor seating if you would like to enjoy the weather. I only had the coffee and it was very good. I would recommend stopping here.

My wife and I spent a number of days in the area and I had seen reviews for this place on TripAdvisor.
We stopped in for an early lunch and had the enchilada supreme combo. One each of beef, chicken, cheese and beans enchiladas plus rice and beans. All were good with a very nice mole sauce.
Chips provided to start were extremely fresh and crisp and the salsa flavorful and just the right punch of spice.
Service was fast and very efficient and the prices were terrific.

Enjoyed a nice light lunch with a colleague. Coffee was ok. Coffee air pumps immediately turn me off. Located in a cool older house off the highway. Easy to miss. Worth a stop.

Kravin is my favorite small shop in Ashland. The people are friendly, and the Yogurt tastes so good. They have lots of flavors and toppings to choose from. Yummy!

This is a must stop whenever we are in Ashland. The service is friendly, SUPER friendly, even, the pizza is hot, fresh, and delicious, AND it is very reasonably priced. If you like a good thin crust pizza, this is a great choice!

I have been going to this area nearly every year, sometimes more, and we always stop at this tiny little dairy queen in order to get ice cream while we are out there! It is just as delicious as everywhere else without all of the hustle and bustle, or waiting in line for that matter!

Historical supper club located on the shores of lake superior
This is a small intimate histotic spot. Small but interesting menu. Mostly all made on site, fresh ingredients and great taste. You have to appreciate this place on what it is. They do a fantastic job, if you have any clue about the restaurant business.
