Things to do in Wolfville

We live in Wolfville and decided to support this new, local business. There is a nice outdoor seating area, and the inside decor is new and fresh. There are lots of beer and cider choices on tap. Our server was friendly and attentive. Those are all the positives.I can't recall being so uninspired by a menu. This is a pub and there are NO FRENCH FRIES! You don't have to have them, but to not have that choice was annoying. The choices of sides were "baked potato, spicy rice, salad". I do not want a hamburger and a baked potato, nor do I want a clubhouse sandwich and rice. Nothing deep fried on the menu -- good for people's health. Perplexing for people who occasionally want to indulge.I appreciate that they are trying to do something different, but it took me 15 minutes to order because there was NOTHING I wanted.I had a spinach salad with blueberries, feta cheese, almonds and shrimp, which was fine, but nothing special. The spinach leaves all had the stems on, which is a peeve of mine. My partner had the beef dip with spicy rice. He said it was tasty, but he, too, was mystified by the menu. The dessert menu was limited. We had the chocolate brownie, which was a large serving and the brownie was delicious. The prices were high for what we got. Two entrees, 3 beer, one coffee, and one dessert was $72 before tip. $85 for a dinner that we weren't really keen on seems like a lot.If you don't like or want fries, we would recommend. If french fries are part of your pub experience, you won't find them here.Service was good and we did not wait for food.

I wanted steak and lobster because I am in Nova Scotia and lobsters are the thing to eat here. Unfortunately so many surf and turf restaurants are now closed until the spring, so I settled on this place. I knew they had lobster and steak but not together, so I had to build my own by ordering the two meals together. They were not willing to cut any sort of deal on combining the two, so it was $28 for the lobster and $16 for the steak. And the verdict is that the lobster was worth it and the steak, not so much. I think the combo somewhere else would make more sense, and I would be inclined to eat here again with more pub-fare type food.

We were told by the hostess it was an hour wait for a table. She said we couldnât wait at the bar as it was full...not sure about that, unless there were a lot of people that had just gone to the washroom, with their drink. I wanted to see what it was all about so our party of 2 waited, and waited, and waited...at an hour I checked to see how much longer...â itâs really hard to tellâ she said... so at the 92, yes, thatâs right we waited 92 minutes, I said we are still waiting... flustered, she got us a table...Then, the server told us it was a 45 minutes wait for food... I said come on, only a third of the tables are occupied, itâs in between lunch and supper. She said the kitchen was overwhelmed and thatâs why the long wait for tables. The meal itself was mediocre, my fries were obviously pre cooked, cooled, then thrown back in the fryer. Luckily I didnât crack a tooth on them. The wings and chicken sandwich tastes the same, donât order them together. The lemonade had a absolutely no lemon flavour, but is advertised as âfresh squeezedâ. Strange.I place the blame entirely on the kitchen staff, itâs unfair of your serving staff to compensate for lack of time management and organization. Your hostess should have said they werenât taking any more tables until supper. It very much feels like they are discouraging customers to patronize their restaurant. And there is a huge lack of communication between the kitchen and the front of the house. I thought perhaps that it was recently opened, but no, I see reviews from February 2019. The growing pains of a new eatery should be long gone by this time. Very disappointed in The Church Brewing Company. Lots of other good local places to go to!Also : Maybe donât plant flowers if you donât want insects around the tables outside. Hornets were fierce and plentiful! Also, utensils dropped on the floor, even when wrapped in a serviette, should not be used on a table, get new, clean ones!

This cafe is iin downtown wolfville and has a nice sidewalk eating area. Had the signature donair on the menu and it was very good. This meal was served as a Pita roll up wrapped in foil (like a baked potatoe).Donairs are the official food of Halifax, but are available ina most of Nova Scotia. Youe need to try these when you visit the Province.

We just decided to try this location for lunch. The chicken and cranberry sandwich on freshly made bread was excellent. The cabbage and feta salad was also very good. It is a very cosy place with a lot of regulars! And oh yes, very good service.

Place was hopping! We were told it would be a 40 minute wait for food but we were just grabbing a local craft beer so it didn't matter.
