Located on the highway you could easily drive past without noticing.Old architectural character has been maintained inside which is a pleasant .Now the food! We had a party of a dozen and the food came out at the same time and no one was disappointed.Drinks a bit pricy but food prices reasonable.Well worth a visit.
This was the morning coffee stop on our cycle ride from Yarra Junction to Noojee and return. Coffee and service were good for a very small town.

This area is sadly lacking in decent restaurants so when this pub re-opened after being renovated, we were happy to give them a whirl. We've visited several times since and mostly been impressed with the food quality and preparation. But the pub has recently changed hands again and when we went last week, we thought the standard had dropped slightly. I had one of the day's specials which was rabbit stroganoff pie. I was looking forward to it as I hadn't had rabbit in a long time. It was tasty enough but the sauce had a very strong herbal flavour I couldn't identify, so the delicate flavour of the rabbit was totally lost. It might have been chicken for all I could tell.We don't usually eat dessert but my husband is a huge fan of Key Lime Pie so when he saw it on the menu (a recent addition), he couldn't resist but was deeply disappointed. For what was served was not Key Lime Pie at all, but a simple cheesecake, not even lime flavoured. It was nice, but it wasn't KLP. The passionfruit sauce was just some sort of sweet syrup, didn't look or taste like passionfruit at all and was superfluous to the dish. We'll give them another go in the hope it was just the chef's night off.

Historic country hotel. Named after a local roustabout, Sam Knott, who became the face of advertising for Carlton & United breweries with the poster seen in nearly every Aussie pub with the catch phrase - "I allus has wan at eleven" Lots of history in the
The food was good, and the staff friendly until 8 pm. While we were still eating chairs were lifted onto tables ready for the end of day cleaning...a very obvious push for us to hurry up and leave. It was 8.10pm! I can understand closing the kitchen at 8pm for main meals, but am unsure how patrons are expected to order a meal, be served a meal and enjoy it in an hour! We didn't even get to have dessert or coffee.

As locals we have always had wonderful service. We invited friends from Melbourne for lunch and were left utterly embarrassed by todayâs rude and inhospitable service.Upon ordering our friends were told there was an hour and a half wait for their meal. When they queried the time frame the staff became quite inhospitable and made an scene in front of other patrons. The cook and another staff member then made a point of bringing out their meals slamming the meals on the table stating âthat it was due to their rudeness that they got their meal quicklyâ and also âthat they were lucky to not have it tipped in their facesâ Needless to say we were horrified. The staff involved were then overheard complaining to other patrons about our table. As locals who had recommended Cunninghams we were utterly horrified and embarrassed. So much for Yarra Valley hospitality. We will think twice about coming back and certainly will be sharing this experience with others.

We ate here as there wasnt really much else open. Service was friendly and we found plenty to choose from on their menu. Meals didnt take very long and they were very nice and good sized servings for the price, which we thought was dearer than the average pub. We left there feeling wed had good value.
