Most Popular Pub food in Taos, New Mexico, United States

Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Taos. A rolling mesa at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos has a magical quality. Its rugged beauty, majestic mountains, wild Rio Grande river and unique blend of cultures - Spanish, Native American and Anglo - have historically drawn artists and photographers, evidenced by the plentiful galleries, museums and festivals. To experience the Native American culture here, explore Taos Pueblo, where the Tiwa Native Americans have practiced their traditions for centuries. Finally, the Anglo influence is prevalent in the business district, with its shops, art galleries and some of the finest restaurants in New Mexico. Skiing is also a major draw, but the challenging slopes are geared to the more advanced crowd. There's no rat race here; a fair share of non-mainstreamers have made this laid-back, low-key mecca their home. You, too, may not want to leave its tranquility and natural beauty.

We were lucky to find something decent open upon our late arrival to Taos, NM in August. Most places are fast food options. Taos Mesa Brewing has incredible pizza that is fire roasted so the crust is just perfectly thick/thin and slightly crunchy. My favorite style of pizza. The gourmet level options on the pizzas made our whole family very happy. We shared some grilled peppers for an appetizer and had some local brewed beer. The pizza is a bit costly but completely worth it. AND, we really appreciate them being open later than most Taos restaurants.

We were staying at Hotel Luna Mystica so figured we’d try TMB for dinner. The menu was limited. And it was only so-so. The roasted beet salad was a whole ton of spinach and previous few beets. The tacos were okay. The calabacitas (sautéed squash) was the menu highlight. We don’t drink beer so we’re pleased to see wine and some wine based cocktails available.

There were six of us - got a table easily. Great waitress who got all the meals right. Food came quickly and was very tasty. We all had different orders and everyone thought their meal was excellent. She split the bills correctly and was always available for any extras. Great decor, too.

We ate here one night while staying at the Quality Inn a couple of doors down. They serve the usual bar food like chicken wings, sandwiches, etc. They do not sell liquor here, only beer and wine. But the selection was good selection of draft and bottle. It's not a big place and is located in a strip mall. There were only a couple of people at the bar when we walked in so seating was not a problem. Would definitely return if ever in the area again.
