Easygoing, big locale with a courtyard, function spaces, a sports bar and TAB facilities, for diverse pub grub. The Olive Tree Hotel has everything you need in a venue.
Visited the Olive Tree Hotel in Sunbury on Wednesday night. We both order the scotch fillet as we were using a docket. Steaks were a bit tough not what we expected at $31 each. Potatoes i had we not fresh probably been used in the roast of the day spread. Decor is quite good but the lighting is fairly bright, not set for a romantic dinner. Small portion of vegetables served with each meal. Mushroom sauce not bad but overall meal was very average. Staff service good, polite young staff members.Dear Rick, thank you for taking the time to leave honest and constructive feedback. We are always looking for ways to better our product and service. I have passed on your review to our culinary team. We do hope you might give us another go in the future!

Have been here several times over the years. A typical Club/RSL type affair but this one is big, well presented and gets busy at times. The food was well presented and well proportioned...quite a good menu too. Discounts for members and even a curtesy bus. There are "pokies" at the venue but, thankfully, the noise doesn't permeate into the eating section . Being there on a Wednesday night, I took advantage of the "Parma Night" special. $17.90 for a Veal Parma was good value.

I've visited this pub 3 times now for meals, with last night being the final straw.Last night's meal was a mixed grill. The steak was not a steak, rather a tiny slither of meat (not a 200g scotch for sure). Bacon was cold. The rissole was a disgusting meatball. The vegetables were like reheated frozen mixed vegetables. And the pepper gravy, both my partner and I could smell like a pine-o clean disinfectant smell and taste in it.Each time I've been here the meals have been poor. I never criticise a place unless I have given it chance. And since I've given it 3, I won't be wasting any more money here. This is disappointing because this place has the potential to be better. That, and it's my local. Very disappointed.

There is the Ballcourt Hotel, The Cellardoor Winebar, and The Den restaurant. While meals in the bar area are cheaper, The Den has a pleasant ambience and comfortable seating. It is up some stairs however. My friend and I chose Steak Sandwiches from the The Den and they were good: tender meat, toasted Turkish rolls, salad, bacon, and cheese to fill them out. The wine list is extensive and there are quite a few good choices of wine by the glass. Likewise the beer list.
