My friends and I came here after driving from La guardia for my bachelorette Party weekend. We found this place because it was one of the places that was serving drinks and apps at 3PM!! We tried other places nearby in Hampton Bay, but they were closed!!The food was pretty good. Get the tuna bites!! We had 2 orders it was that good! Fun local crowd! If you want to avoid the flashy and ritsy places come here! It's such a fun local place!! We had amazing service and great beer selection! We would definitely be back!

This is a casual place with an emphasis on bar food with a limited entrée menu. Space is decorated in a beach theme and noise level is quite high. Service was pleasant if rather disorganized and several items plated incorrectly. Food was good with no surprises. There are a number of event nights and a daily happy hour promoted but were not part of this dining experience.

Very casual dining but food is very good, well prepared and presented well. Specials served every night with some good deals. Drinks often half priced. Wait staff has been very good most times. One clunker who seems to have left employment at his place. Accommodates large groups with little problem.

This was once adorable, with the garden in the back, and bar room feel inside, some how, the food is not at all as good as it once was. My tuna was awful and not of great quality, the seaweed was dried out, and fresh ginger tasted like it was left over from last week. My husband clam chowder was watery..We had to ask for bread, even the olive oil tasted poorley..Service was very slow..The help was nice..The bathroom was clean.I doubt I will rush back.Hi there. I am disappointed to hear this feedback. Please know that this is not the norm for our restaurant, and is not the standard we hold ourselves to. We want all of our guests to have a great and positive all around experience with us, and knowing this was not the case for your visit is saddening. We hope that you visit us again in the future.

Watch carefully as you drive through Hampton Bars to see Gator's door. It would be easy to miss among the string of doors along Montauk Hwy. in Hampton Bays. The Gator on their door will help. I have been eating here for more than 20 years. It would not be summer without at least one trip or more to Gator's. It's a small restaurant but rarely a wait and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. We love to get the ribs and corn fritters for appetizers. I have had so many good dishes I hardly know what to recommend. Salads, Soups, Burgers, French Dip, Steak, Tacos, Ribs, Pasta and more It's a varied menu and I never been disappointed.

78 Foster Restaurant & Bar is now open in Hampton Bays, NY. Join us for lunch specials, dinner, happy hour, live music and more!
We have been there twice. It's a restaurant with a large crowded bar. The food service is rushed. The servers are indifferent. The food is mediocre and only a step above diner quality. I had a Tuna Tartare appetizer that tasted old, oversalty and topped with stale avocado spread. The Gumbo is decent. My wife had stuffed flounder that she said was overcooked and dry. When asking if the fish was local the response was "sort of."Last time we had burgers...greasy burgers. When live bands play inside it's too loud to allow for conversation. Same thing with Karaoke. We said we weren't going back after the first time. Gave it another chance. Now not ever going back again.Sorry to see your review Alan. We hope that you will change your mind and give us a chance to change your opinion of our food soon.Sincerely,The Team at 78 Foster

We have not gone here in years. Extensive menu should please just about anyone. Mostly burgers and apps. Service not great, but acceptable. Runner brought our 2 appetizers to share between 5 people, and did not give us any plates to make sharing easy. Food was good.Dear Jackstraw66,I was there all day and night because of the Superbowl. It was seriously crazy during the day and slower at night. We apologize for the lack of attention. We are assumming you were there for dinner. Correct?Your runner was new, so we are sure it was just an oversight about the small plates. Let me know if and when you are planning to come back, we would like to give you a complimentary appetizer!!Thank you!!

Family style, low key atmosphere where families can sit in the bi- level back of the restaurant which offers hardy American favorites. Service is efficient and itâs a popular waterhole as well. When you first enter, you are greeted with a lively bar, flat screen tvâs all around, games. Highstanding tables before a long and often crowded bar. Service is excellent and fast. Lots of parking outside. Itâs not fancy, but the food is surprisingly good.
