1008 KEY CLUB offers an excellent drink selection, modern American food, and great specials. Located on Historic 4th, the venue unique to say the least!
21st Amendment has the ability to be five stars with just a few tweeks. The location of the pub is the revitalized 4th street area. The whole area is attractive and enjoyable. 21st Amendment adds to this look with its acme brick walls, rustic wood floors, ceiling tins and exposed rough plumbing pipework. You get the feeling you are in a New York loft. The atmosphere is five stars. I peeked out back and saw and outdoor patio. It looked cool, but an employee was smoking out there so I didn't explore it.Next is the food. It too is five stars. The chef comes in each morning and freshly prepares everything for the day. Fresh ingredients prepared daily always means better taste. Beyond that the chef has some skills. His chicken sandwich is way more than pub food. The smoked mozzarella melted over a properly seasoned chicken breast is wonderful. The field greens are tossed in dressing to coat the leaves thoroughly. Every bite gets a taste of dressing. The marbled rye bread pulls it all together. The chicken noodle soup is the bomb. All of the ingredients are freshly cut and added to the base broth. It's so good.Creating atmosphere is really hard. Finding and keeping a chef that knows what he/she is doing is harder. All of this is lost by hiring uncaring college students to run this place like a dive bar. The two employees working had no idea how to create customer service and wait on people. Neither acknowledge or talk to incoming customers. Customers sit at tables and the bar for several minutes with no beer, drink or menu offered. Many times I saw them talking with each other, eating and checking their phones while customers needed refills, orders taken and food delivered.I was so frustrated. I sat at the bar for almost five minutes before anyone would talk to me. It took another five minutes to get a menu and my drink. It was another 10 minutes before she came back and took my food order. I almost walked out. There were maybe 10 people in the bar with two servers. That's a 5:1 ratio. I saw the servers standing around more than I saw them working.Get servers that care. Train them. Hold them accountable to give service that matches the atmosphere and food. Several of the reviews here talk about long waits and bad service, which means this is not a one-time thing. If 21st Amendment fixes the service and attitude, this pops to a five star just like that.

Schooner and a charlie boy for $6.50. Plus $3 for the ATM fee:(. Not bad, should really have a cash only sign on the door.

Chips and salsa is our favorite appetizer at Chileâs. This trip however, it was water in a bowl. Weâve been ordering this for 30 years and this was a first. Waitress didnât offer to offer us another bowl she just said âthatâs how it isâ She did take it away. The rest of our meal was just fine. Husband talked to manager on way out about salsa. He said it needs to ârise for twenty four hoursâ hmmmmm I think if it needs to âriseâ then somebody needs to plan ahead. I also believe that it might to need âsitâ but not necessarily âriseâ. Disappointing and now kinda funny.
The Jolly Roger's Bar and Grill was a great find. We were not sure about the food or drinks there, but the rum punch and steak and cheese sandwiches were super! Simple but super good. Quick service and a nice location overlooking the river!

Nice to see Table 32 and Crave hitting the market for new dining options.Ambiance: nice modern $$$ buildout with plenty of seating options in bar and dining areas. (hope landlord threw in a good building allowance!) Note that it will be loud as the customer load increases. Food: Shrimp and calamari were both good and needed the dipping sauces. Calamari was lightly breaded and not dripping with oil. Noodle bowl was disappointing: very bland and coconut milk seemed to be watered down. If you like Thai or other spicy Asian dishes, this will be too boring. Suggest offering options to increase the heat--add Thai chili's and other spices for those customers who want more zing.Service: Biggest problem was that our entres showed up 3 minutes after our apps were served!! Sent them back and they probably sat under a heat lamp or in oven for 15 minutes until we were ready. Need to pace the delivery of food instead of ramming out like a McDonalds! Our server, Mya, was new and tried to do a good job: when there were problems, she corrected them.Bar: Problems here--ordered a G&T in a tall water glass with extra lime wedges and got it delivered in a small glass with one wedge: sent it back. My wife ordered a Kettle 1 martini and it showed up with a vermouth taste which she hates. nobody in LA or NY puts vermouth in a vodka martini!! Should ask customer first before it gets thrown in.Management: manager stopped over and we filled her in on all the issues, which she was quite responsive to.We will return to try more dishes.
Great local bar with local atmosphere and the pizza was fabulous. Definitely worth a stop. Has great wings on Wednesday night.

I've been visiting Buffalo Alice's since the 80's when it was located on Pearl Street. It moved to the remodeled 4th street area with all the other cools restaurants and shops in downtown. The place still looks a bit like a dive, but it does not have that run-down feeling. There are two reasons to visit Buffalo Alices: Pizza and craft beer. They do a really good job making fresh pizzas. It's not as good as Jerry's or El Fredo's, but it's up there. Having craft beer on tap makes it that much better.Service here is two stars. They don't care and or even try to make small talk. They do the minimum to get you a beer and take your order. The rest of the time they huddle and talk with each other or get on their phone.

Stopped on a Saturday night, 6:30 or so. 20 Minute wait for an outside table. Place was REALLY busy. The beer list is extensive, several sours, 3 stout/porters and quite a few IPA's, at least 16 on tap the night we were in.Ordered dinner, pasta, chicken rouladen, the brisket and bacon burger and the sausage platter.Burger was phenomenal, sausage is made in house and has excellent seasoning. The Rouladen was very well done, but a bit overcooked and the pasta was on point. We didn't get a chance to try the pizza, that will be next time!
