Went for lunch with friends and were seated at a table on the outdoor patio. Nothing is better than a nice cold/refreshing cocktail or beer on a hot summer day. We were served promptly, and service was very good throughout the meal. We were slow at ordering as we were talking too much and not looking at the menu to decide on our entrée. Our waitress never made us feel rushed. We decided on the Fish & Chips, the Avocado and Chicken Clubhouse and the Crab Quesadilla. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

Introduced to this local favorite by friends who live in area. Initially, upon entering, thought this was something needing a huge decorative update but quickly realized the ambience was created by what it is, as is. Very friendly welcoming and seated quickly.Told the food was great and were not disappointed.Cobb salad, split pea soup, roast beef sliders hit the table. No leftovers.Service maybe a bit slower than we might have wanted, however, nothing to complain about.Yes, give this place a solid A .

Since 1990, the Rumrunner Pub & Restaurant has served delicious seafood and West Coast cuisine in a spectacular setting along the Sidney waterfront at picturesque Port Sidney Marina. Patrons enjoy a warm ambience, great food, and unforgettable views of th
This is a very friendly and popular pub and restaurant on Sidneyâs waterfront. Patio dining provides views of the marina next door and of the ocean and little islands beyond. An excellent spot to watch the sun go down over the Haro Strait in the Pacific. The food is good and thereâs a varied menu with lunch/dinner specials. I recommend the fish and chips, the nachos and also the halibut on a cedar plank with strawberry salsa. Service is friendly. I come over from the UK and visit my family in Sidney every year and I visit the Rumrunner several times on my visit too!

Today Sean and Jenn McNeill are the Red Seal chef owners that strive to make Boondocks a fun and comfortable establishment for all that enter their doors. Boondocks is a family restaurant and children are always welcomed but in all honesty if you want a q
We arrived at 6:30pm to grab a quick meal/ snack and a beer before our ferry to Vancouver (ferry at 8). We explained right when we walked in that we have about 40min and asked what would be the best and quickest option to eat and that we are ok to get served and/or get a takeout. But we had a sleeping toddler with us and we simply didnât have other options. This was the only open place in Sidney for BC day and their room was third-full - not busy at all. We said we are ready to order right away. The girl who set us said sheâll call a server right away. I saw her talking to the server, who wasnât looking as she was busy at all, but it took her whole 8 min to come over. We stated again that we are ok with any food and a beer and ready to order. We explained the situation again - my 2yo was sleeping on my lap. This server with blanc face said it is unlikely weâll be served within 30 min. We reinstated we were ok with anything even soup (câmon it canât take you 30 min to poor use two beers and two bowls of soup!!) She did not take our order and just walked away to serve another table. I walked to her in about 5 min at the cashier and asked to take our order... at this point my husband gave up already as they just wasted 20 min out of 40 we had.... we walked away as there was no point. They did not lift a finger to help us. They clearly werenât interested at all in serving us, and did everything they could to show it. Weâve been in similar situation before few months ago - had limited time and our son with us - and that other place did everything they could to accommodate, which felt fantastic! I was so happy and proud for that placeâs owners, management and staff. This place on the other hand and these servers showed themselves as absolutely horrible place and absolutely unsympathetic people. If i were the owner of the place I would have found a new service team. (Our server was a lady redhead with a braid, tall, size 10-12, and looked 40ish. She didnât say her name)

Dropped in for some pub food and got exactly that. It wasn't too crowded when I visited and service was pretty quick. They have some good local beer on tap.
