Bob's Chicken To Go!!Over the last few years I have heard a lot about this place in Shelton that is purported to have "the Best chicken" on the Kitsap Peninsula...Finally, got a chance to check it out myself. It really is the best! Bob's Tavern in Shelton, WA has a rather large selection of food on their menu for a Tavern. I was very surprised! Their range of food includes some of the best home made fried chicken I have ever had.We ordered the half a chicken with JoJo's or fries. We took the Jojo's instead of fries. Those Jojo's were Huge!! They have the best seasoning on them that I have tasted. Even better with a little Malt vinegar sprinkled on them. The chicken...I can't say enough about the chicken. Superb! Puts my fried chicken to shame and I make some good down home chicken! LOL!We shared the basket which is not enough for 2 people, in my opinion. It would be the perfect portion for 1 person. One hungry person! It costs $11.50 for the half chicken basket, which I felt was over priced. You only get 6 Jojo's with it which I didn't think was enough. The decor is comfortable with a large outdoor patio that is half covered. You can play pool while you wait for your food.Dine in or take-out.This is a pub so it is not suitable for children or families. There is lots of parking! If you're looking for something to do or a new place to check out be sure to put Bob's Tavern on your list. You will be glad you did!Another "Gem" on the Kitsap Peninsula!

We liked the large buffet, mainly for its seafood: crabs, clams, and other seafood was plenty and well prepared. Everything was very fresh and tasty. There was also delicious meats, I enjoyed a piece of sausage with very spicy taste. The dessert buffet was also quite worth a try.Careful as the place closes quite early (9 pm)
Out of business, it id difficult to write a review about a closed business, but here goes. It is a cute rustic old log cabin made building. The clientele was primerily locals and there business was good. I think the owner retired but am not sure. News: It appears to be reopened with new management, I have not been in there yet, but will soon. I started this review several monthes ago and decided to finish it.
