Had a lovely dinner here recently with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their chosen meals. Good selection on the menu and meals were well presented. Service was friendly and efficient. Was busy on a Friday evening so good idea to book ahead. Pub prices for drinks. No complaints !!

We would Regularly visit the Shellharbour hotel for a meal about twice a week, however this time things have took a turn for the worst, they have started to charge for ingredients that should be included with the meal, and are charging them as extras. The management know what talking because I expressed my annoyance with no on uncertain terms. One of the managers came and spoke to us and seemed to agree that our meal was not good for the money, but that was it. All the staff seem to put the blame on the new management/owners. So a $20 Caesar salad and up costing you $28 because you have to pay for the extras. We wonât be going there any more, good luck in the future if this is how you treat your customers.Hi GwynF8,Thank you for leaving a review-- I apologises sincerely that you have had a bad experience especially as a loyal, regular customer. I would really like to discuss this further and get to the bottom of exactly what happened here so I can resolve and discuss with the rest of the management team and ensure this is dealt with better in the future.I completely understand your points above so if you would like to contact me so I can improve our processes I would really appreciate it.Kind regards,Danyelle Griffin(02) 4296 6619

Finding myself in Shellharbour for a business commitment on Friday morning we took the opportunity to check out the Ocean Beach hotel for lunch From freshly shucked oysters to just right grilled barramundi and salmon fillets, both resting on a bed ofPomegranate, fennel and radicchio salad, our lunch overlooking the historic harbour area was spot on.

Quality of meals were very good and the quantity of food on the plate was more than enough. There were 8 adults & 2 kids in our party and everyone enjoyed their meal. Nearly all adults could not finish their meal due to the amount of food on their plate. Prices were quite reasonable with Monday-Thursday specials @ $12.99 as well. The only drawback is the venue needs modernising with more emphasis on kids entertainment area.

First time visit as locals, the place was busy. The only available table was in front of the kitchen servery and this was a little uncomfortable. The service behind the bar was excellent however the bistro attendant seemed a little disinterested. The timing of the meal delivery was quite good considering how busy it was. With regards to the meals, we had a chicken Caesar salad (rate 4/5), rump steak diff and turf (add $9 to the $21 chatty of the steak) and it was quite ordinary as the meat was dry and overcooked for a medium rare steak, the chips were soggy...yuk. The seafood basket came out in a big taco like substance that was not a pretty site. Friends had pizza that was served on a paper thin base but the highlight of the meal was the beef cheeks. Our looked great and the meat simply feel apart. I wish I ordered the beef cheeks. We were there for a show, the music was too loud, I'm still dealing with a headache and ringing ears. However the show was great.Won't be back in a hurry, this was our first visit since moving into the area 9 years ago, may be our last.
