Our afternoon at the Hertog Jan Proeverij was very nice and had an unexpected end to our evening! We had a few beers and dinner. Dinner was delicious. The 'Rund Vlees Stoofpot' was great! It was a stormy night and it was raining extremely hard! When we asked where the busstop was to take the bus to our hotel, the chef even offered and brought us to our hotel!!

We stopped here for a quick bite before taking the boat on the Meuse. Centraal is situated on Baarloâs main square, Baarlo itself being a beautiful little town full of historic houses and a magnificent castle. At Centraal my wife had a toasted sandwich which I wish I had chosen, it was simply beautiful, the highlight being the exquisite bread which Iâm told is baked on the premises. Superbly crunchy on the outside, a soft, near sponge like pale yellow interior, seriously nearly the best bread Iâve ever eaten. My croquettes were good, again on this great bread, but the toasted sandwich, with smoked ham and local cheese oozing from its every orifice, was another level.!

My Father, I and several colleagues have been working in Venlo for a month now, de Brasserie was one of the first restaurants we came across and since we haven't found anything comparable. The food is delicious and having ordered majority of the menu always exceeds my expectations. I would highly recommend the Borsch and the Mussels as they are my personal favourites however as stated previously, you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. On our first visit we were greeted with smiles, kindness decorum and full knowledge of the menu, that has all continued for every visit. All the staff are truly beautiful and so friendly, a true asset to de Brasserie. Working away from home is hard but this restaurant and crew truly has made us feel like we have a home away from home!! Thank you guys we love you all and will most certainly be back :) xoxo

This pub has a quite religious feel...decorated with religious statues and paintings. It's quite cozy though. There are quite a few beers on the menu and special ones on the tap. I had a beef stew for lunch, which was delicious (served with bread).Thank you for your respond. You say quite a few beers? We have 20 taps and over 100 bottled. With puts us in the top-3 bars in our town Venlo according to number of beers. But size doen't matter. Quality does. We are happy you liked our beer-stew.Louis KlaassensOwner

It was our last night in the Netherlands and having read a recent review sought out the Cafe and we certainly weren't disappointed. As we walked in wasn't too sure as people stared maybe because we had our young grandson with us, maybe just because we were strangers in what was such a quiet town. The service was excellent though, friendly and helpful. Two of us had mushroom soup two of us had tomato with meatball soup both of which were good and sometimes it's the little things but the butter provided with the bread was amazing. For main course my wife and I had steak with pepper sauce, our daughter had a three meat meal consisting of Liesbeth's stew, chicken satay and ribs. I had been tempted by the stew myself but the steak was wonderful. Loved the way the frites were served which may or may not be normal in the Netherlands but we liked it. Unfortunately none of us had room for dessert as they looked great. The service was great and was a great end to our short holiday in the Netherlands. Just wish we could have stayed till the weekend as looked like Horst was going to be lively. Lovely town and would highly recommend Liesbeth's Grand Cafe for price and quality.

Donât miss this place ! A family run farm shop and restaurant.Rather new and hopefully soon the no1 in town. This place has charm and that âeating at homeâ feeling with the a classy chef touch! Food looks great and tastes delicious! I had the daily special salad a special beer and a we shared the chocolate sandwich desert! My wife had a creamy mushroom soup and a toasted bred with goat cheeses, salad, pecans an honey. I can only wish all the salads dishes were as good as this one ! Enjoy ! Wow! Thanks very much for this nice reaction! We love that you felt at home, this is excactly what we like guests to feel at De Gastendonk. Maybe we'll see you again soon!

Dit restaurantje zit in een onwijs schattig pandje direct naast station Horst-Sevenum. Ik liep hier binnen nadat ik (na een lange reis) was aangekomen op het station en ik nog wat tijd over had. Ik was verbaasd over de aanwezigheid van zo'n schattig tentje op het station: heel tof!Ik bestelde mijn lunch aan de kassa en mocht een plekje uitzoeken. Even later werd het naar mij toegebracht. Het eten was lekker, maar niet bijzonder! Door meer met verse of lokale producten te werken zou dit restaurantje naar een volgend level kunnen gaan. Ook vond ik de portie wat aan de zuinig kant kijkend naar de prijs.Kortom: Een leuk restaurantje met een leuk interieur met veel potentie!
