Situated in the heart of the picturesque North Yorkshire market town of Settle the Royal Oak is a must on everyoneâs itinerary when visiting the area. The Royal Oak offers a fresh looking country inn packed with character and ambience. Our professional te
We visited here as it was the closest place to walk to from our B&B on an evening of torrential rain! They have a pretty good gin list (which I sampled!) & we also ordered food - I had scampi & chips & partner had chicken in Stilton & mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes & veg. Both meals were piping hot & very tasty and the portions were large! We ordered desserts but were told that the kitchen closes at 8.00pm, so be aware of this - we did get ours as the barman said heâd sort it out & he did. The food cost us £31 in total, so very reasonable. Iâd recommend it if in the area. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review Glad you enjoyed your visit to us and your meal. hope to see you again soon ThanksMatCountry Village Inns

Received a warm welcome when visiting for an early evening drink. Some interesting beers at reasonable prices. Nice modern decor with a good atmosphere. Great music at the right volume. My dog was welcome too. A big plus for me was the well looked after, spotless ladies toilet. There is an extensive gin list although I didn't have one on this occasion. Recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights 30th/30st December for the New Year celebrations. Our room was a twin at the front of the pub with good views, lovely comfy beds, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries. We had a shower over the bath, the room was lovely & warm.We had 2 evening meals which were very good in a lovely dining room. Breakfast was very good although could have had more choice of cereals. There are an excellent choice of drinks at the bar, efficient friendly staff.New Year's Eve celebrations was lively with good music & dancing.I would recommend this pub it's a good location only 10/15 minutes walk into Settle.

We love our food here at the Golden Lion and we hope that you will too. You can choose from menus which have been created to showcase the best local in season produce, sourced from trusted suppliers throughout Settle and the surrounding area.
Sunday lunch on a very wet day after a 50 mile cycle ride I was starving. The vegan Racine was tasty but not very filling! Choice pretty limited for plant based eating here. Beer was kept well though and went down a treat.Lots of restaurants now working out that veggies eat vegan food and appreciate not having to eat tons of cheese - perhaps something to think about to make the menu more inclusive.Could have murdered a veggie Sunday lunch!

Welcome to The Game Cock Inn a Traditional Yorkshire Dales pub, restaurant and B&B with a cosy bar, real fire, award winning restaurant, delicious food with a French twist and comfortable, quality accommodation.
Had an amazing meal, the rabbit was superb as was the lemon tart! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and was only sorry we didnât have time to visit again! My only complaint though small was sitting off the bar area which did provide to be very noisy as the evening progressed - which I suppose was to be expected
