Very glad to say that the new landlords have hit all the right notes - in the right order!!! the official launch day was very well supported by a very enthusiastic Village. The Beer Garden is well equipped to entertain youngsters whilst the Picnic Tables provide sitting for watchful Parents,Already there is a regular Quiz Night which is very well attended by a great mix of age groups in "perfect harmony". To come is food, but sensibly things are being done step-by-step. well done.

Nice friendly village pub with a range of guest beers. Dog friendly and always welcoming. Weâve been in here several times but not eaten here yet, just had drinks. Lots of nostalgia and photographs as itâs close to the burn airfield which was used during the war.

Attended a Christening party here and have to say I wasn't all that impressed. Upon arrival the venue was only half set up for the event (which they had been paid to do) and my partner had to help finish doing so. The bar was really busy and there were very limited staff to provide service so it took quite a while to get served.Firstly I cannot apologise enough like I did on the day. I was extremely poorly and tried my best to help without passing my infection to anyone else. I had paid someone to do the job for me as soon as I was out of hospital and I was too disappointed to come home and find it hadnât been done and Iâd lost the money myself. (This is always why I do it myself to ensure that it up to my high standards) I appreciate this is not an excuse because I know it isnât. If there is anything I can do now to make this up to you please rest assured knowing I will. With sincer apologies.Kindest regards,Jade

The Wadkin Arms is a local community village pub, serving Real Ale, Wines, Spirits, and draught Lager & Cider. CAMRA, Cask Marque and LocAle accredited
Decided on giving this place a try as not far from home. To start the telephone call to reserve a table for 8 was met with the most polite friendly person which immediately was a good start. When we arrived we were greated warmly and served a drink by a lovely lady while we waited for all to arrive. Menu was not too large, again a good sign. Food was ordered and served promptly. All had a Sunday lunch, all were satisfied. The meat tender and vegetables cooked to all our liking. Deserts were nice and a good sized portion, nothing was left on the plate. Food not expensive and we were all left full up. We got exactly what we paid for and would certainly return. Thanks to the lovely staff

We Are a small but busy country pub with a large South facing beer garden which backs onto the river and play area. We serve home cooked food with a specials board and real ales. There is always a warm welcome in winter with our open fires. We Are dog fri
Called in with my 3 year old daughter for afew drinks and was very impressed. Lovely welcoming friendly staff nice drink and snack selection but the biggest success is the lovely beer garden. Has a play area for the kids, tame chickens you can feed, goats geese, my daughter loved it. I can only imagine this being perfect in the summer months. Has a marque and outside bar so would love to drop on any kind of event. We enjoyed it that much we shall be returning regular and hopefully for Sunday dinner in the next few weeksIt would be lovely to see you again, thankyou for your lovely comments.Regard Jug Team.

Freshly cooked local sourced food, seasonal menu, real ales and homemade grapefruit gin. Sky Sports and BT Sport on two TV's. Quiz night every Thursday 9:30pm. Sunday Carvery 12 - 2.
A very welcoming and hidden gem of a pub with a great carvery; the landlord and lady are both very welcoming and the ideal place to have a drink or meal.

Just visited for a few drinks and a game of darts.First thing I noticed as we walked in on the 9th September was that Christmas music was playing in the background!! Nice pub, laid out well, Sky Sports on the big screen, dart board, food served, everything you would want from a pub. The only problem was that there were fly's everywhere, behind the bar, on the tables, in your beer. Very off putting, especially for the poor people who were eating.

Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere â what more could you want from a restaurant & country pub? The Drovers Arms, set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, is fast becoming one of the areaâs
Recommended by friends so thought we'd try it.Lovely reception and friendly staff. Good drink selection and attentive staff. The mushroom starter was way too salty though.I had the pork steak and it was really overcooked and tough. My husband had sausages and mash and his sausages were so overcooked too as if they'd been left under a hot lamp or just cooked too much.Nothing special about the food.Very disappointed with the bread and butter pudding too. Lacked flavour and no crunchy outer crust.Won't rush back, especially from Doncaster!!

Weâre a family owned public house and restaurant situated in the heart of Yorkshire just a few miles south of York and Selby. We have a large, beautiful beer garden available and are happy to cater for parties.
Would have rated higher than 5 if possible, Sunday dinner, small portion, which was bigger than the average normal portion, could not fault anything! Absolutely no room for sweet so couldnât comment but the main was delicious
