Saint Paul has been called the last city of the East primarily because early developers built it to fit Eastern standards: city squares or parks, towers and turrets, lofty arches, Baroque domes and elaborate adornments abound. Ideal for families and those who like to explore on foot, the capital of Minnesota offers big city attractions with small town manageability. It's an easy and scenic stroll along the banks of the Mississippi River from the Children's Museum to the Science Museum. The kids (and the young at heart) will love them both. Nearby are the grandiose State Capitol, designed by esteemed architect Cass Gilbert and the historic Como Park, which includes lovely picnic areas, a zoo and a conservatory. Also in the mix are modern museums, stately old mansions, interesting natural wonders and unique shops to browse around. Be sure to check out the stellar collection of contemporary works by local artists at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. From four-star luxury to affordable and family-friendly, Saint Paul offers a variety of lodging and dining possibilities making it a great destination for all tastes and budgets.

Found this place by accident and was very happy. Had a burger that was perfectly cooked. The homemade fries were incredible. The wait staff enjoyable and efficient. Overall I would give this place 2 thumbs up.

Casual, Outdoor Patio, music
This place is large with several different rooms, atmospheres including a large patio, a more plain but well lit room and a traditional bar area. We arrived just after happy hour and unfortunately their parking lot was full but it was easy enough to find street parking. On Monday nights they offer $6 burgers, any burger basket on their menu except 1 ridiculous one and it includes fries. I enjoyed the Axtell burger(Bacon & Cheese) and a beer($6). The burgers were delicious, better than the Parlor burger across the street IMHO! Service was friendly although a little sporadic. I would definitely return here again, and it wouldn't even have to be a Monday, they were that good. If you do go for their Monday burger special and if you make it before 6pm, drinks are on happy hour too.

In truth, this is not exclusively a hotel restaurant--it serves a wider clientele than guests, and I suspect its selection of good Irish whiskeys and good selection of craft beers on tap explains its popularity. It was convenient for me because I was at the hotel, and offered a nice place to dine on my first night after a day of travel, and the next morning when it was too early to venture out for breakfast elsewhere. The dinner menu isn't overly extensive, but it offers enough choices of sandwiches, entrees, and salads, as well as appetizers, to satisfy. I had fish and chips and a great local EPA for dinner, and a standard eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast breakfast. The service was very good; I dined alone and had work to do, and the hostess ushered me to a corner with plenty of work space and no others around--perfect for my needs. The hostess at breakfast offered me a similar space (again, more work to do) and did not hustle me off once the plates had been cleared. It's a comfortable spot--lots of out of the way spots for privacy, a couple of televisions with sports for those so inclined--and the staff is welcoming and attentive.

Went for lunch while visiting attractions in St Paul. Menu featured Roast Turkey which was cooked fresh daily. We each had the complete Turkey Platter with Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes and Cranberry Sauce The portions were very generous and the food was excellent. Also the tap beers of which there are many were also very good. Service was excellent and prompt.. Great place and good atmosphere also.

This is the place to be! The last few month I have been saying I want a place I am excited to go back to! THIS IS IT! The food was amazing! We never have dessert and we got it just because the other food was soooo good! Two words: pulled bacon! Mouth watering BLT. The shrimp and grits special going on was also amazing! Their homemade chips with onion dill dip is with the extra charge! The cookie cart ice cream sandwich finished off the most delicious food I have had in many months! Staff is friendly and made from scratch food! Great beer selection and cozy location to just hang out with friends and family!

Stopped in for burgers and beers while in the area for a hockey tournament. Seated a group of 7 immediately. Quick and knowledgeable service. Varied selection of beers to meet any taste. Also a good selection of appetizers and sandwiches. Enjoyed the food and the location. Worth the visit.

We had heard the name, never tried The Tavern on Grand until our neighbors treated us to a Sunday dinner on them. So no matter what the price was right. We were there specifically for their Walleye dinner special and kind of taken back by the down home feel to the place. Service was personal and playful, something I always like. The fish was very good and we couldn't (wouldn't) complain about the portions. After all was said and done, we really enjoyed the evening and will be back.

This place is hopping on Saturday with a make your own Bloody Mary bar. Food is really good; had the Breakfast Sammie with a fried egg, deli turkey, greens and avocado. Very generous portion served on whole grain bread and accompanied by delicious fries. Lunch menu is also available in the late morning. Really great that there is a less noisy dining room with table service in a back room. Service on this visit was prompt and friendly. Plan to return for dinner.

If you are in search of a good, juicy, one of a kind burger, look no further. There is something for everyone on the Red Cow menu. Vast beer list, yummy cocktails, a dozen burgers to choose from and great happy hour. Highly recommend giving this place a try! Unfortunately parking in the area can be a huge hassle, and they donât take reservations so weâve waited up to an hour for a table. Must try the cheese curds!!

My wife and I arrived around 3:30pm on Thursday, July 25th. It was very busy at that time, but we were greeted right away and seated at about the 3rd table adjacent to the bar. Our server was very nice and quite attentive. Being newbies, we did not know what we were going up against with our meals, so we ordered an appetizer of hand dipped cheese curds. They were awesome! I ordered the Lodge Burger. When it arrived I saw that I was in way over my head with the amount of food we ordered. The burger was delicious, as were the French fries. Sadly I had to waste quite a few French fries, as it was a huge serving, and the cheese curds were too yummy to pass up. We had a great visit and would not hesitate to stop in again.
