We stopped in after travelling from Bournemouth....plenty of parking in the back but when entering via the back car park you pass what looks like a grave-yard of a kiddies play area/smoking area.....dirty, cluttered, flaking paint and generally a miserable looking entrance...we weren't here for the view, so we went on in..... The place seems a tad outdated in appearance, but it was clean and the pub-grub menu was exactly what we wanted. I had the gammon steak...cooked perfectly, nice runny egg with it but the side of chips were a tad lacking......I would have wanted more...but it was a small point. My wife had the steak & ale pie....lovely taste, just not enough of it!!! The pie dish was the standard size, however upon breaking the puff pastry crust, there was literally just a covering at the bottom of the dish...1 inch maybe? It tasted nice and my wife's not a big eater, so it sufficed, but had I been going for a special meal I would have been sending it back to get topped-up!All in all a mixed visit.....clean the place up, de-clutter, fill your pie dishes and I'll be back!!

Thank you so much for a fantastic, lovely meal. The food was beautiful, cooked to perfection and the service was second to none. Went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 9 people on Fathers day at the very last minute and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and commented on the excellent service. Fantastic management and team, who all worked hard and were extremely pleasant and welcoming. Thank you!

The Bank, a once run down old cinema built in the 1920âs, has been re-invented and transformed into a unique eating, drinking and entertainment venue, mixing contemporary and classic surroundings to bring you an environment perfect to relax and enjoy. Sit
We decided at the last minute to venture out on Mother's day . Having been to The Bank before it was again a very good choice . Parked outside ( free parking on Sundays ) Staff were friendly and inviting . Great place if you like Sport as they have Big Screens showing the main Games of the day . Wasn't packed either . Lovely , large selection of Gins and not silly prices . The 3 of us shared a couple of ' Starters ' ,and then each had a main meal , a few beers / Gins ( pop for our driver ! ) and at £57 we felt excellent value for money. Would again , highly recommend :)

A fabulous little pub, situated next to the canal in between Stockton and Birdingbury, serving the most amazing food. Everything is prepared and cooked fresh in our tiny kitchen so there will be a little wait for your food but oh is it worth it. Booking a
We are on the Grand Union Canal on a narrow boat and chose this pub over 2 others because of the varied meal selection. We called to book whenever they had a slot and were given a table at 7.15. The bar staff were very friendly and the pub was warm and welcoming. Aside from the wonderful menu, the specials of the day only added to our difficult decision on what to eat! We are only sorry we didn't have room for dessert. Would I recomend this pub? Absolutely. Thank you for a lovely relaxed evening, and our compliments to the Chef and ALL your staffThank you so much for your fantastic review, we are all glad you had a lovely evening.

Nestled in the picturesque Warwickshire village of Harborough Magna near Rugby, The Old Lion offers a fresh take on the classic country pub. We're passionate about good food and drink so here you'll find proper pub grub made from the best local produce co
Sorry, just canât justify a higher rating for this place. One member of staff for a busy lunchtime including the bar. Wrong sandwiches served up and horseradish that was doing an imitation of wasabi. I like it hot but this was on the verge of inedible. Couple this with the flooded toilet and rancid beer, which incidentally was their own signature ale, I was very pleased to leave.

Restaurant for all the family from the very young to the very old catering for all tastes. Food available until 10pm every day. Live sports available. Outdoor playarea
Always have a good time here, been a while since my last visit. This time I got a goods Guiness and played some pool with a friend.....the white ball did get stuck once but otherwise it played well. Ordered the onion rings that are quite a spectacle...5 or 20 is the choice....which seemed a little ridiculous, why no 10? lolHello thank you for your feedback. Youâll be pleased to know the pool table has been levelled and recovered recently so should play better than ever. We offer the two sizes of onion rings as one is a side and one is a âsharerâ starter. I will pass your feedback to head office thank you

We were in Rugby last month and visited Metchantâs Inn on several occasions. Every-time we went in the service was excellent! The vibe is amazing and I love the decor. Our family had chosen this venue for a lunch get-together on a weekend- absolutely fantastic service, excellent customer service and great food! Definitely recommend!

We had a lunch time meal with my brother and his wife. Good friendly service with a welcome smile. We all enjoyed the food. A good menu to choose from with at lunch time which gives you a choice of courses. I hah 2 courses for £8. My brothers all day breakfast on the other part of the menu looked very good. Will definitely visit again in near future. Decor is modern and garden looks nice too. HiThank you for taking time to review us, glad you enjoyed your visit, especially good to hear you were greeted with a smile :) see you soon

There has been a public house on the site of The Bowling Green dating back to 1520. The original building was destroyed in a major fire in 1741 that accounted for many of the buildings on Coventry Street. The current Bowling Green pub was rebuilt in 1750
We ate here on a Wednesday evening as a table of 4. We had booked a table but unfortunately the staff were preoccupied with serving drinkers/diners sitting in the garden. The service was incredibly bad - ages to take order (20 minutes), ages for food to arrive (45 minutes), forgetting to bring steak knife for steak (despite being asked twice) no table check, no sauces (the waiter forgot) no drinks order taken after drinks finished. The food was average. The chicken Caesar salad was as far removed from a Caesar salad as you can get (who has ever heard of onions, peppers and a poached egg on a Caesar salad?). The steak was very tough and the gammon was thin and grey. As no steak knife arrived the steak was inedible. We couldn't tell the waiting staff as they had vanished! The fish and chips was good however. This was a birthday meal and we were all left disappointed. For local pub grub this place isn't cheap and did not live up to expectations.
