We are a friendly local Pub having re-opened in February 2013. Our staff and management are on hand to offer you a range of beers, ales and locally-sourced freshly-made food from local suppliers. All food is made fresh on the premises by our culinary team
Visited here on Wednesday 16th August for lunch. We had hunted around Letchworth/Baldock for ages before my daughter looked on trip advisor and discovered this little gem.We had the pub to ourselves, which was good for us but a real shame as they deserved to be absolutely rammed. We ordered 2 battered halloumi and chips and a fish and chips. It was absolutely amazing, the halloumi was cooked to perfection. The homemade chips were totally fluffy inside and yet crispy on the outside and it was served with peas and homemade tartare sauce.WOW WOW WOW.. no word of a lie it was amazing! The barman was friendly and the chef in my book deserves a Michelin star!!! Its just a shame we live in Highgate or we would be in here all the time... thank you x

We thoroughly enjoyed our Monday lunchtime visit to Tally Ho. The food was excellent. There's the old pub favourites like burgers but also some more interesting dishes to choose from. My wife loves the polenta dish. The new chef is obviously very good and I hope to enjoy many more of his dishes in the future. Great service and welcoming staff and regulars too. Thank you for reviewing your dining experience. Our new chef James is indeed enjoying producing tasty specials along with classics! The polenta dish is currently my fav too. Intense flavours and colourful! Thanks again for your comments and we look forward to seeing you again.

We only popped in for a lunchtime snack, ordered the house burger, it was very nice, but with the chips and garnish, it was a big meal that we could have shared.Great value, and the Menu looks very good.

We were lucky to find this location for a family party of 30 to celebrate an 85th birthday. The staff were very helpful during the several weeks of organization and made the event a success. The food was excellent, and they were flexible enough on the day to respond to a number of menu request changes. The included breakfast was excellent. With thirty people staying over after the dinner we stretched the resources of the hotel a little. Family who stayed in the main building were very happy, although the car park is small and the one way system in the town centre ensures that locating it is not intuitive. Those of us who stayed in the apartments were slightly less happy. Access is challenging (although the website does note that all rooms require a stair climb), parking is at a premium, and while the apartment I stayed in was bright, clean and well equipped, it needs some TLC.All in all a great stay. Thank you to the staff.

One of Royston's most iconic buildings, Banyers House in Melbourn Street, re opened its doors in December 2016. Situated within easy walking distance of the town centre, this Grade II listed Georgian building has been transformed into a destination venue

A pretty village pub that has a lot to offer. We have 4 B&B rooms decorated stylishly & finished to a high standard Homemade home cooked food from local suppliers 5 acres of gardens to enjoy with a beautiful river walk on the back of our property.
My wife and I had time on our hands while in the area on business. We decided to lunch at The British Queen and were delighted with our choice of sandwiches, all served with chips, mayo and tomato ketchup. My wife had beef with horseradish on white and I had ham with English mustard on honey seeded bloomer.Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Dining area 5/10.Dining area let down by the number of flies that we had to swipe away constantly. Better insect control would have gained a better score.Bottom line as always, would we eat here again?YES we would

The Woodman is a stunning country pub, surrounded by idyllic English countryside. Large gardens with an impressive childrenâs play area in one. Recently refurbished in 2019 with areas to suit all visitors. Large function room available for weddings and ev
Visited here early Saturday lunchtime. There were a few reserved tables but we found somewhere to sit. The seating area was comfortable. The staff were friendly. We ordered a burger each which came out well presented and in a decent time. Food was very nice and just the right amount. In my opinion, the sides that you have to order as extras (as the burger comes by itself) were overpriced but the quality of the food we had in general meant that the whole package was decent enough value for money compared to some of the pubs out there.Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review, we love to hear back from our customers. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and your meal with us (burgers were a great choice!). We decided to separate the side dishes so that people could have the burger on itâs own, as a lighter meal or can mix, match and share sides. This way, you get exactly the meal you want. Itâs been a really popular menu layout. We have not had other comments about the cost of the side dishes but I will take yours into consideration when we do our next menu review. We hope to see you again soon.Kindest regards, Jenna
