Reviews on Pub food in Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand. Bubbling mineral springs and pools promise maximum relaxation in Rotorua, on New Zealand's North Island. Therapeutic hot mud pools, dramatic geysers and a buried village are within easy reach of the city. What happens in the bubbling mud geysers of "Rotovegas"—the area at the top of Fenton Street—stays in Rotovegas. Once you've made the most of the mud, soar nearly 2,000 feet on the Skyline Gondola for views of Lake Rotorua, then zip back down to explore the lake by paddle steamer, fishing charter or WWII amphibious vehicle.

Centrally located in a classic piece of bold 1940's architecture, the Pig & Whistle is a local landmark with a great history. Our friendly staff will make your visit one you'll want to repeat. A wide range of Moa Beer on tap as well as three Ciders, and a
Just a note to anyone visiting, you have to place your own orders at the bar and they bring stuff out to you. It would have been helpful to know this when they sat us down away in a corner. Might have been helpful if they mentioned it. That aside, the place is very loud, crowded, service is mediocre and slow. The waiters tend to ignore and avoid your eye contact.Given the number of other restaurants in Rotorua I can't recommend going here - there are tons of other places to eat that have delicious food and much better service.I don't recommend going here.We don't normally get it wrong but seems we did for this group. The meet and greet person is supposed to let you know to order at the bar. Perhaps that was missed this time? We don't have waiters the floor. We have bussers running food. All service is at the bar only. Yes, it does get crowded and with the people comes a buzz. Other customers have commented on the atmosphere that this creates. We don't apologise for being busy. People come here for a reason. We don't recommend you come here either if you want a quiet place with table service. That's not us. We are about pub food, drinks and good times.

A little slice of Dublin right in the heart of Rotorua! Serving great food, great drinks and showing LIVE sport daily, the only place to feel at home in Rotorua if you've a touch of Irish!
The last time I went here I was not impressed (in July 2019). Another club I belong to wanted to have a lunch meeting here. I was not looking forward to it.I am so pleased to say that the service was much better. We had a meeting where the meal arrived in a timely manner, the Head Waitress was very organised and we ALL got our meals within minutes of each other. My congratulations to the Head Waitress, she did a marvellous job. This was the way that the separate room meals should be run.

We ended up eating here as there was not much around. Burgers and fries were good, everything else was average. Beer was cheap only $5.8 for a mug of wild buck. Fish and chips menu was very cheap, massive bowl of fried only for $4, batter fried fish $3 :O Bar was full of Bikies on Sunday. Service and staff lady was really lovely.
