Had a fantastic meal at The Old Red House tonight. 2 steaks for £20, lovely food, excellent price and value for money and great service. Canât fault any of it, the food was delicious, massive portion, perfectly cooked steak. Real value for money and such lovely warm service. Highly recommended!

Welcome to The George at Wath. We are now serving quality local cask ales and a selection of fine wines served by the glass. Our restaurant is focused on providing fresh, local and seasonal produce under the supervision of our Head Chef; Harrison Barraclo
We visited The George for Sunday lunch after a weekend camping at the beautiful Stonebridge Lakes. The Sunday lunch is delicious. Even a yummy veggie option. And do try the heritage tomatoes starter, the pesto sorbet is very unusual and an absolute taste sensation! Very impressed, and lovely staff too. 5 stars!

Had flown into Leeds/Bradford and travelled up to Ripon. By time we arrived we were needing breakfast and seeing the Wetherspoons , in we went and orderedFirst off , they had run out of cups so were given takeaway paper cups Sat at our table and basically stuck to it. Menu were just as sticky. Breakfast arrived and can put hand on heart and say the hottest thing about it were the plates Went to use the loos and the whole stairwell was filthy Although the actual toilets were clean the whole ladies cloakroom was in disrepair, not a pleasant visit at allThank you for your reviewI'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit and will pass your comments on to the relevant team members. We pride ourselves on having high standards here at The Unicorn and I'm sorry we missed the mark on this occasion.

We are an award winning, independently run bar & restaurant, offering a range of high quality freshly prepared food to meet every occasion, in a contemporary bar environment.
It was a lovely surprise to discover somewhere in Ripon that caters really well for vegans (albeit some places can cope) and we're not far away so shall certainly return. It wasn't perfect, however, and I'd have liked to say just 'good', not 'very good'. The (unadvertised) chips were excellent and my BHP wrap was very tasty but the ingredients were so mushed up together that it was difficult to distinguish individual flavours, and I'd have liked a lot more than a teaspoonful of the advertised crispy cabbage salad. The separate vegan menu really should be displayed as prominently as the non-vegan version, not hidden away at the back of a drawer where the waiter had difficulty finding it!Many of the dishes (too many for my tastes) were described as spicy or zingy.Nice old pub with wood panelling & wooden floors. It would be a very good idea to erect a sign indicating where the toilets are: I had to ask, as did 3 other people in quick succession.I do hope that by now they've fixed the collapsible toilet seat and put more toilet paper in the left-hand cubicle of the ladies.

Called in here on a Saturday lunchtime .We ordered two ploughman's lunches .Decided to eat outside as it was such a pleasant afternoon. Food arrived promptly and was very nice. This is a place that we will visit again as its only a 5 minute detour from the A1.Thank you so much for the review, you are more than welcome to call again as you seemed to bring the sunshine & feel pleased the garden is able to take every opportunity to show itself off the moment before summer kicks in! Weâre happy you enjoyed your Ploughmams & hope you enjoyed your weekend away, we look forward to you calling in on us on your future A1 ventures, many thanks again, much appreciated , Claire & Ted

A traditional public house serving traditional food, the ambience was underwhelming! The beer was OK. The food was OK. If anything, the portions were mean, given pie and mash was £9.69! It was very evidently microwaved. The place was OK. The décor is tired and slightly tatty. The Toilets were OK. Tight for space, there is little room in them to get in and out and do what you do. If you appreciate wall to wall piped TV sport with multi-screens on different channels, and appreciate the confusion of piped commentary with different pictures then this is the place for you. But hardly relaxing. MEDIA OVERLOAD. All in all, very average. Not somewhere that I propose to return to any day soon.

All of our food is freshly prepared in house by our talented brigade of chefs. We are lucky to be located in an area rich with excellent local produce. This is reflected in our menuâs that change seasonally enabling us to use ingredients when they are at
Visited The Royal Oak twice during our week-long stay in Ripon, both times for evening meals.Very friendly service with staff who engaged well with diners. Food was very tasty, fresh and no long waits for food. On first looking at the menu, it didn't appear that there were too many options for me as a Pescetarian, but the waitress was quick to highlight dishes that could be easily altered to exclude the meat, which was appreciated.Quite nice decor; tables were a bit close together in some instances - the next table would hear everything you said - but not too big a deal. Prices ok, not the cheapest but not overly expensive either. All in all, would recommend a visit.

A warm and friendly pub which specialises in great service and fantastic homemade food. All our produce is sourced locally where possible and our chefs strive to make new and exciting dishes
We were staying nearby and decided to come here for Sunday lunch. A good decision! Nice location out in the countryside with plenty of parking. Lovely place inside and nicely thought out and well decorated. Staff were all very friendly. We had three courses all of which were excellent. Well presented food and taste to match. Could do with more places like this one! Excellent.and could have stayed all day.
