Northwoods bar and grill on beautiful Lake George. Outdoor seating on our large deck. Daily specials. Friday fish fry.
My wife and I ate here recently on a Friday night. She had the broiled fish and I had the fried cod. Both came with french fries, cole slaw and rye bread. They were both large and tasted good. The staff is friendly and our food was prepared quickly. We will definitly eat here again.Just so people know this is a bar that serves very good bar type food, has TV's on the wall with the Brewer and Packer games on and Nascar races.

This steakhouse is attached to a bowling alley. The decor is very nice. All of the food we've tried has been wonderful. My personal favorites are the chili, french onion soup, burgers, wraps, salads and steaks. There is something on the menu for everyone. They have a happy hour and many daily special. Glad we found this place.

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Daily specials. Full service bar and restaurant.
Okay,, it is located in OLD Downtown Rhinelander, because the downtown is giving way to newer businesses on the outskirts of town. Food was okay selection of meat breakfast food and lunch items along with a lot of salad choices. Price for buffet, seemed high for the area, but I travel allot, seats about 50 people and additional seating by the bar. Unfortunately when i was there it was an extremely humid day and the AC in this place seemed non existent, even the wait staff had beads of sweat. Wait staff very pleasant and willing to go above and beyond to make you happy. Okay, but.....

this slightly renovated bar (done in a northwoods style) had the best fish tacos and veggie wraps, but on Friday nights it has pan-fried (not deep fried) fish, which is hard to find in the northwoods of Wisconsin. It is good and we think it is worth trying,

We've driven by this place dozens of times, and finally stopped for lunch one day before a hike. What a pleasant surprise! Even though we weren't "regulars", we were greeted warmly, and staff was very attentive. The food was excellent, their homemade chips are amazing! We've been back several times since the first visit, and each time we leave feeling glad that we stopped in. Awesome burgers and sandwiches, and their Hawaiian shrimp wrap is a nice break from the usual fare. The place is clean, and the restrooms aren't nasty like a lot of places up here. Will be back for sure!

Enjoyed our first visit to Northwestern Hotel & Lounge - Justin our bartender, a better looking version of Jay Leno was friendly, courteous and patient with us on our first visit. Gladly explaining the menu, etc - he made it a fun visit and the Hemlock sandwiches were delicious. I tried the wild rice soup as well, it was great. This place has some serious history (I'd love to know more) that dates to the early growth of Rhinelander as it is located directly across from the Railroad station (non-operating) as the tracks were removed some 30 years ago. If you're looking for new and fashionable, this isn't the place for you - however, if you want to go where the locals go, eat like the locals, and soak up some of the historic ambiance, then the Northwestern if for you. Give it try, I think you'll enjoy it. Also, if you find out the origin of the name for the Hemlock sandwich - let me know, I'm curious. Enjoy

It's a few miles out of Rhinelander, but well worth it. Relatively new place, nicely maintained, woodsy decor, quite large, huge wooden chairs. We had a group of 8. A nice variety of items on the menu, mostly sandwiches, wraps, basket-type items, lots of appetizers, daily specials, Friday fish fry (of course). Service was excellent. Everyone seemed to like what they tried. I had the homemade tacos, a nice surprise. The French onion burger was especially popular. And the homemade potato chips.

Bucketheads is one of the premier sports bars around. We offer a huge selection of food and beverages. Enjoy watching your sports teams on one of our many flat screen tvs. Happy Hour Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00pm.
My husband and I were in Rhinelander for my sisters wedding, and the day we left, we had a few hours to kill before our flight. We headed into Rhinelander Brewing (see separate review), and we ordered burgers from Bucketheads! They delivered in about 38.7 minutes (yes, that is an approximately exact time!). The burgers were delicious and it appeared they make their own buns, but we canât be sure.We didnât visit their actual location, so I canât speak to that. But the food was spot on! So, if you find yourself downtown Rhinelander, visit Bucketheads and grab a burger!

A fixture in Rhinelander for over 85 years. Always dependable, excellant fish and steaks . Open for B-L-and dinner.
The food hit the spot on our first outing in Rhinelander. I really wanted the blackberry jam and bacon grillled cheese but they were out of blackberry jam (they make it there from scratch and it had to sit for 24 hours after creation...my mouth is watering just thinking of it). The atmosphere is different because it is dark and very old school in the restaurant... i felt like i stepped back in time to a supper club, but the menu was def not old school.
