I ate here recently when on a recent work visit to portlaoise, and the restaurant was nice. The food was reasonably cheap as I hadn't chosen any meats, just veg and salad. However salad options were very limited and could do with having a wider selection. Staff were friendly, and it's a nice environment for doing paperwork for those who work on the go like me.
I was with a group of males for a recent lunch meeting We all paid the same price for our carvery lunch & the portion difference between the male in front of me & the male behind me compared to mine being female was unbelievable. we watched the man in the white hat slice the meat for my dish compared to all the males & it was offensive It was the same when it came to veg - I only asked for one veg & barely got one spoon full & I watched another plate & he had 4 times the serving Shame on Your business to show a gender difference

Went in Sunday at 17.45. Was told they were only doing pizza. Ordered a pizza. Waitress came back a few minutes later to say what I ordered was the only pizza they didnt have. It's basic enough to make sure staff know what's on and what's not. When it arrived, the base was thin but chewy. Calling itself a "gastro-pub" is a bit ambitious for this place.

Was here for an evening meal recently. It was a good job we had booked as there was very few free tables. The menu is quite extensive, something for everyone here. I went with that pad Thai from the Thai section which was quite good. The portions are are huge so I wouldnât worry about having starters. The staff were all very friendly and checked with us regularly.

We offer really good, wholesome food, at really affordable prices. We bake all our own bread, scones and our desserts are also handmade. All our meat is Irish and sourced locally. We serve food from 7.30am - 8.00pm daily.
My husband and I stayed here for a night as we were attending an event in Portlaoise. The location is ideal, in the town centre and close to everything. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and good powerful shower. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good too, and the fact that it was served until 11.30 was a real bonus after a late night! It was a bit noisy but it didn't bother me and my husband wore ear plugs so it wasn't an issue and they do warn it is a possibility on their website. We would definitely stay there again and o would recommend it.

Pretty average & unadventurous pub food . Not the most welcoming place Iâve ever been either . Give it a miss .

Iâve been to Lillyâs on a few occasions for food and also on a night out. I always find the staff so polite, helpful and attentive. It has a lovely quirky chic feel which suits any event from enjoying food from the delicious menu to quite pints to dancing the night away. Iâve also met the manager Kevin on my last visit, he was so welcoming and great at his job.I canât wait for my next visit

Went into Treacyâs for breakfast last Sunday it was busy as usual but we didnât have to wait too long to be seated when we were seated it took them 30 seconds to get the menus quick service and a very pleasant waitress our kids ordered 2 rashers and 2 sausages and a ham sandwich and my wife ordered a scone and I ordered a full Irish it was at least a 45 minute wait for the breakfast. The scone was a bit dry and the ham sandwich came out toasted to the waitress was very apologetic about it though. When we went up to pay it was a bit pricey â¬2 for a small glass of apple juice not very good value although I had a nice experience and prefer it to CaToCa Emo.
