Porthleven (/ˌpɔːrθˈlɛvən/) is a town, civil parish and fishing port near Helston in Cornwall. It is the most southerly port on the island of Great Britain, and was originally developed as a harbour of refuge, when this part of the Cornish coastline was recognised as a black spot for wrecks in days of sail. Nearby Loe Bar was particularly infamous, with swimmers and surfers being warned off the area. Porthleven has many large areas of social and council housing. An electoral ward called Porthleven and Helston South also exists. The population at the 2011 census was 3,059.

The Coach and Horses Inn is an 18th century coaching inn located at Kenneggy Downs on the A394 between Helston and Penzance. We are just a few minutes away from the beautiful beaches of Praa Sands and Perranuthnoe . We have a pub welcoming both holiday ma
Food was very poor whilst we where having our food you could see 4 rats coming from around the kitchen area disgusting the owner just shrugged her shoulders she even saw the rats and did not care less I would not eat here as there obviously is a hygiene problem .You are an absolute disgrace and you should be barred from leaving untruthful and damaging reviews. You were sat in a table that had no view of the kitchen, you were on the opposite side of the building to the kitchen . The owner didnât shrug his shoulders he was out and the waitress made him aware of your comments later on when he returned. She said she told you you were sat next to a farmers field. You ate everything on your plate didnât comment on the quality of the food you paid and left without comment. We have a contract, as do all restaurants, with a company called baroque pest control anyone is free to ask too view their documentation It clearly states we have no vermin in any part of our buildings or outbuildings but we canât control grassland.Everyone in the restaurant said the food was excellent. strange this is your first review. ....... we are proud to be popular in this area and grateful for the support of local people an orchestrated campaign of lies is not something weâre afraid of.Your comments are unfounded and untrue

Located next to the popular National Seal Sanctuary in the picturesque village of Gweek near Helston. We are in the heart of "Poldark" country and are close to some of the beaches used in the filming of the new and old TV series. Church Cove and Gunwallow
Ate here twice during our holiday, Sunday lunch and then an evening meal. Both times food good, tasty and well presented. Brilliant friendly service from all the staff. Highly recommend.

Although I am not a real ale drinker, my two friends were and enjoyed the various Spingo ales. What made it for me however, was the impromptu entertainment by the landlord and some of his chums. They started singing Cornish folk songs, and then popular musical tunes, whilst having a quiet pint in the covered garden bar at the back. They prompted my friend to join in the singing, and it made our visit very special.

The Queenâs Arms is a family-friendly pub in the heart of the village of Breage, Cornwall, just two miles from the picturesque fishing village of Porthleven, three miles outside the market town of Helston famous for its Flora Dance each May, and a 12-minu
We were lucky to camp near this pub for our Cornish holiday. It really is everything you want to find when you walk into a pub. A warm welcome, excellent beer and a tempting menu. We are here several times and it was all of an excellent quality and generous portions. Probably my favorite meal was their vegetable pasta dish which so often is an apology for the veggies to eat from pub menues. At the Queens Arms it was a delicious treat that had obviously been cooked by someone who cares to make food tasty. The beer is top notch! An interesting, changing selection which is so well kept. I had a perfect pint of London Pride here, better than many a London pub. We will be back again because we love this area and specially this pub and their pub quiz!We work hard to make sure our menu is balanced and interesting for all tastes and dietary needs, so are so pleased to hear that this has come through. Thank you for your support during your stay nearby and for taking the time to leave a review.

Although its not in the main part of the town (its out by the football club) we were recommended to visit by friends, and so glad we did. A great atmosphere, good beer, and friendly staff, but the real attraction is the literally hundreds of old photos that adorn the walls. Most are of Porthleven itself through the years, but there are many showing ships that have been wrecked in the area - highlights just how dangerous this coast used to be to sailing ships in particular. Allow at least half an hour just to look at all the photos!

Good beers with plenty of variety, and with RNAS Culdrose nearby good to see the Curio Fly Navy Gin. I settled upon seafood chowder followed by pork medallions on black pudding, the rest started with scallops and one with venison steak the other also with pork medallions. Service was excellent, the food piping hot, the staff great and the puddings very naughty. Recommend it to everyone

Lovely friendly locals pub with beautiful sea views from a terrace, serving home cooked food, locally brewed ales and a good selection of largers and other beverages.
This pub was just a few doors away from where we were staying and with 4 adults plus 3 young children was a great place to go for an early evening tea that was not pricey. A bit up the hill but the views are great. A good selection of beers, nice friendly staff and good food.

Drank here most nights, itâs a olde world pub think itâs 17th century, right on the harbour side.Drinks prices and choice were good, we had a few meals here, start doing food after 6, you can not book so need to get a table early, foods really nice, 1 of the best scampi we have ever had, pet friendly too.
